Leidos is seeking a strong, experienced Cyber Security Engineer to define, support and implement a successful cyber security posture on a complex, distributed and highly innovative simulation based training system for the DOD. This position will work in conjunction with other teammates to ensure that all cyber related concerns are addressed and mitigated in both distributed on-line development environments as well as a distributed/deployed system. This position will be primarily responsible for the overall Cyber Posture to accomplish the ATO, and will manage a team of technicians and junior engineers to accomplish all cybersecurity objectives for the delegated part of the program.
A successful candidate will address both initial cyber accreditation, as well as on-going operations. The candidate will be responsible for maintaining computer and information security incident, damage and threat assessments. Working with the prime, this candidate will ensure that all aspects of the system under control conform to and exceed the documented needs of the overall system implementation. Support to a wide variety of penetration testing, validation events, user assessments and other formal test events is required. Some travel is expected. A successful candidate should demonstrate experience in areas such as forensics (investigating the full range of computer and information security incidents) and network assessments. In addition, duties may include designing, developing or recommending integrated system solutions ensuring proprietary/confidential data and systems are protected, supporting Cross Domain Solution (CDS) implementation, participating with the client in the strategic design process to translate security and business requirements into technical designs, and configuring and validating secure systems, testing security products/systems to detect computer and information security weakness.
A successful candidate will demonstrate a track record of successful cyber related activity and initiative driving programs to successful ATOs. The successful candidate will have awareness of complex DOD control measures, STIGs, a working knowledge of eMASS procedures/ requirements, and experience in supporting Government users in accomplishing necessary cyber training, testing and reviews across an entire program. In accomplishing these tasks, the candidate must demonstrate detailed knowledge, experience and awareness of the nuances of implementing particular control measures, and must be able to explain those measures to a staff of technicians and less experienced engineers to accomplish the program goals.
Basic Qualifications
Possess a current DOD Secret clearance
BS in an appropriate related field
Possess credentials commensurate with DoD 8570 IAM Level III
Demonstrate at least 8 years experience with Cybersecurity and at least 4 of those years within a DOD Cybersecurity equivalent environment
Be conversant with NIST 800.272
Possess at least 4 years practical experience on program level ATO/cybersecurity activities
Preferred Qualifications:
Have direct experience with DOD modeling and simulation environments
Have hands-on experience in team leadership and management
Possess a PMP
