More About the Role:
The SMIT Global Logistics team has an opening for a Logistics Manager to oversee and conduct the management of logistics over operations in Mechanicsburg, PA and specific field sites across the Continental US, Alaska, and Hawaii.
The Logistics Manager will manage a team consisting of Logistics Coordinators and warehouse staff. The Logistics Manager will lead, direct and review the work of teams who exercise latitude and independence in their assignments. The Logistics Manager will be the primary input to hiring, firing, promotion, performance, and reward decisions for direct reports.
This position requires practical knowledge in leading and managing the execution of processes, projects and tactics within the area of property management, maintenance (repair and return), disposal, environmental and safety practices, and the respective reporting. Typically has advanced knowledge and skills within a specific technical or professional discipline with understanding of the impact of work on other areas of the organization.
What You'll Get to Do:
•Receiving, storage, inventorying, disposal and reporting of Government Property per FAR/DFAR
•Evaluation of stocked assets against the configuration management system to identify potential candidates for disposition.
•Performing configuration audits to ensure inventory is consistent with the configuration management database (CMDB)/CMS, initiating corrective action through Change Control.
•Accepting baselined products from third parties for distribution.
•Building system baselines for promotion and release.
•Maintaining project status information and status accounting records and reports
•Maintaining and reconciling databases containing information regarding licenses, warranties, and agreements for the organization's software.
•Assisting in Development of property/asset management plans and reports.
•Ensuring accuracy of data within the Asset Management Database.
•Establishing schedules for and conducting Monthly Inventories and reconciliations.
•Supporting scheduled and ad hoc Asset Management System Audits and reconciliation of errors.
•Coordination with procurement for procurement of new assets.
•Management of asset repair through a repair and return, or similar, process.
You'll Bring These Qualifications:
-BA/BS degree and 5 years of prior relevant experience or Masters with 3+ years of prior relevant experience, plus 2+ years’ experience supervising or leading teams or projects.
-High school diploma or Genera Equivalency Diploma (GED) with 5 years’ minimum experience and four (4) years of experience using DoD Logistics and Asset Management System (e.g., HP Asset Manager, Remedy, DPAS, GCSS-MC).
These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:
•Experience with “HP Asset Manager” software.
•Experience with FAR/DFAR Government Property Management requirements.
•Experience with Government asset management system (DPAS or GCSS-MC).
