Leidos is looking for a top notch candidate to provide legal support services federal agency customers in New York City and/or White Plains, NY for various sections/divisions.
This position is expected to start on June 1, 2021. However, employment is contingent on ability to successfully obtain a minimum of a Public Trust Waiver prior to your start date as well as the ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust Suitability Determination for the duration of this position
Overtime and travel may be required as needed with proper authorization. Individual may support any division/section within depending on the needs of the office at time of hire.
Duties may include the following but not limited to:
Assist government prosecutors in all phases of case development and presentation,
Organizing and performing detailed review and analysis of subpoenaed documents, including financial records, health care materials, electronic communication contents, and other litigation files
Using Relativity to make all types of differentiated discovery in a wide range of cases from Violent Crime, to Securities Fraud, to Cybercrime
Reviewing both legal and non-legal documents, including motions and briefs, and a variety of legal correspondence
Analyzing subpoenaed social media accounts using a sophisticated data analytics platform such as Palantir
Assisting with accurate data entry into various legal and financial systems which will allow later analysis by DMAs, Special Agents, and AUSAs
Assisting and partaking in witness interviews and proffers; and arranging travel for trial witnesses, including ensuring Covid testing as required by the Court
Compiling and assembling documentary evidence for grand jury presentations via photocopy, scanning, and creating electronic presentations
Assisting in developing exhibits including pulling file copies, tabbing binders, numbering, and creating electronic presentations for trial.
Coordinating the civil and criminal discovery process, including making data accessible to defense counsel via email, FTP, and/or by loading external drives
Identifying assets for seizure and coordinating their review with filter and/or case team members
Marking and presenting evidence through automated litigation support devices in the courtroom
Conducting bond co-signer interviews which require analysis of the signer’s financial wherewithal, and ensuring the signer is not being manipulated by others
Conducting and assisting with privilege review and screening for privilege documents
Performing quality control and ensuring timely production of specified deliverables with minimal supervision
The above mentioned duties may be performed as single functions or in combination with one another for the respective position.
Basic Qualifications:
Proven excellent written and oral communication skills.
Three years of experience on major litigation support assignments may require experience or substantial undergraduate coursework in, for example, finance/accounting, health care, or substantial experience in the legal environment or in information technology.
Demonstrated ability to work independently in a team environment.
Requires hands-on familiarity with the Government's office and network environment, including but not limited to, data processing environments, including office automation networks, PC-based databases and other applications, internet and server-based databases and other applications, such as Oracle, Relativity or other document review platform, Trial Director, etc.
Should be a knowledgeable user of the Government's office and network environment, including but not limited to, word processing, spreadsheet, imaging, and hardware systems.
Ability to perform detailed work consistently, accurately, and under pressure extremely important.
Ability to work and interact professionally and effectively with all levels of staff.
Ability to meet established deadlines and work as a team player in a professional office.
Skilled in meeting and dealing with people in a courteous and tactful manner.
Some walking, standing, bending and carrying of small office items
Ability to obtain a security clearance.
Must be a U.S. Citizen.
Preferred Qualifications:
-Experience working in a Government and/or Litigation Support environment in conjunction with basic qualifications, preferred.
- Paralegal Certificate or Paralegal experience, strongly preferred.
- Automated litigation support experience.
- Trial experience very helpful.
- Experience with civil and/or criminal cases.
- Experience with organization and management of a large volume of documents/discovery.
- Current or active clearance.
