Civil Group of Leidos is seeking a Subcontracts Intern to support its Exploration and Mission Support The Operation in Reston, VA or Gaithersburg, MD. Civil Subcontracts at Leidos is responsible for purchasing all direct services in support of end customer programs. End customers include federal civilian government and state & local agencies as well as commercial entities. Civil Subcontracts is looking for highly motivated supply chain students to work as interns during the summer of 2021. Interns will learn about Leidos’ Subcontracts operations and receive introductions throughout the Subcontracts organization. Interns will be exposed to training and real life examples of procurement for services at Leidos. Throughout the summer, interns will have the opportunity to tackle a team project that will evaluate the Leidos Independent Contractor (IC) Process from the perspective of all stakeholders to identify opportunities for streamlining the process, clarifying roles and responsibilities, documenting results and educating stakeholders.
- Learn the basics of purchasing services in a Federal Government approved Purchasing System.
- Attend meetings with stakeholders to identify process improvements for engaging independent contractors for services. Contribute to:
- Standardizing internal and external communications
- Designing, developing and implementing an automated workflow
- Designing, developing and implementing a database to retain determinations and approvals
- Updating templates
- Updating training media
- Updating internal websites
- Make follow-on recommendations for long term IC process success.
- Working towards college degree relating to supply chain, sourcing, or logistics (or a related business field)
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
- Ability to work in a group environment
Candidates must be enrolled in a degree program or equivalent experience and less than 2 years prior relevant experience.
Your GPA needs to be included on your application and resume.
