Job Description:
Seeking a Program Maintenance Manager in Afghanistan. This position is responsible to the OCONUS Program Manager to establish, direct, and manage aviation maintenance to support the safe and efficient maintenance of the Afghan Air Force (AAF) and Special Mission Wing (SMW) rotary and SMW fixed wing aircraft, primary CONUS reach-back support, coordinating activities from multiple sites with all Project Management Office (PMO) support functions. This position has a 60/60 rotation and is expected to work opposite and in coordination with another 60/60 Maintenance Manager.
Primary Responsibilities
Overall maintenance management will include responsibilities of deployed management staff and quality assurance, production control, back shops, Aircraft Ground Equipment (AGE), Aircraft Battle Damage Repair (ABDR), technical publications and documents, configuration management and maintenance support at supporting locations.
Analyzes current maintenance problems and future maintenance requirements to identify needs and develop a rotary wing and fixed wing maintenance programs that are organized and operated in a fashion that resembles the US Army Aviation Maintenance model found in ATP 3-04.7, and specifically includes Quality Control and a Production Control functions for AAF and SMW operations.
Responsible for all maintenance metrics and maintenance CDRL reporting.
Provide maintenance briefs as required to MASPO and/or end user.
Produces products and processes which support overall program and maintenance objectives to include applicable instructions on maintenance, safety, standardization and maintenance management
Maintains currency in technical developments, technical training, quality assurance, and project management policies and regulatory compliance
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in engineering, engineering management, mathematics, science, business, or logistics from a college or university accredited by an accrediting body recognized by the U.S. Department of Education and/or 8 years of relevant maintenance experience equivalency
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with US Army Maintenance Operations
Military deployment experience is highly desired
