Leidos is seeking a Material Planner Intern in Reston, VA.
We are excited to announce an opening for a Material Planner Intern on our Procurement Strategy team (Rockville, MD; Reston, VA; or Oak Ridge, TN)! This is an exciting opportunity to learn and gain experience with Supply Chain Strategy and Operations within Leidos. This person will be responsible for supporting the material acquisition plans for the multiple programs within the Leidos Defense and Intelligence Business Lines. Individual will be interfacing with Vendors, Logistics, Receiving, and the broader Procurement & Enterprise Partnerships team to ensure program milestones are met, as well as working on special projects as assigned.
-Works with Program team to ensure a streamlined procurement process of materials against program requirements.
-Candidate must have the ability to work with programs in generating material requirements and providing the necessary support of acquisition plans from start to finish.
-Maintains reports and monitors material movement throughout manufacturing and inventory sequences.
-Coordinates forecasts, workload, expediting, and acquisition priority with commodity/category team leadership.
-Engages supply chain (vendor to manufacturing) to determine optimal acquisition strategy.
-There will also be opportunities to work special projects with multi-functional teams. The most successful candidate will have a desire to be a part of a team, enjoy hard work and learning on the job from a team of other talented professionals.
-Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain/Logistics, Business Admin, Finance, Engineering or related field. Minimum GPA 3.0.
-Excellent computer skills (excel/pivot tables and PowerPoint).
-Effective verbal and written communications skills.
-The ability to work under tough time constraints and prioritize multiple tasks
