The Defense Group at Leidos is seeking a Contractor Special Security Officer (CSSO). The CSSO is responsible for providing day-to-day security support to Artemis program.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Manage contract security officers, support aircraft TSCIF, and ensure compliance with government and company security policies and procedures.

  • The successful candidate will provide security oversight and direction of the program and the supporting staff.

  • Manage the contractor guard force to the satisfaction of the customer’s security group and contracting activity.

  • Analyzes, defines, and establishes security policies and procedures.

  • Prepares and enforces security policy and procedures, and classification guidelines.

  • Visitor control, document control, physical security, and contractor guard management.

  • Provide security oversight for the process of creating, accrediting, operating, and disestablishing a SCIF/TSCIF with a truncated timeline.

  • Conduct the following security activities: courier, escort, orientation and annual security refresher briefings, and infraction and violation investigations.

  • Ensure compliance with site access requirements, maintain up-to-date access lists, and coordinate with the program for in and out processing and DD254s and CPRLs.

  • Ensure proper control, dissemination, dispatch, receipt, and destruction of classified materials.

  • Conduct routine inspections to ensure the adequacy of physical security, and correct deficiencies in construction, alarms, locks, and other security devices.


Basic Qualifications

  • BS/BA Degree and four (4) years of prior relevant experience or MS Degree and two (2) years of prior relevant experience. Experience may be used in luei of degree.

  • Thorough working knowledge of the NISPOM and other government regulations and Intelligence Community Directive (ICD) standards.

  • Seasoned knowledge of multiple functional areas and DoD security programs

  • Manage and contribute to the development and execution of security policy, plans and procedures

  • Experience in providing/drafting Security volume input in support of contract proposals

  • Excellent organization and communication skills

  • The ability to effectively interact with staff at all levels

  • Self-starter with ability to work independently, customer service orientated

  • Commitment to security - creating and delivering the highest value to customers

  • Ability to interpret company and government security policies and apply them to program operations

  • Strong understanding of Physical Security requirements of the ICD 705 to meet contractual needs

  • Thorough understanding of security databases such as JPAS, NISS, DISS, eQip and ACCS

  • Experience creating and conducting initial security briefings, debriefings, indoctrinations, pre/post foreign travel briefings and refresher briefings, as appropriate

  • Ability to develop and establish an effective security awareness, training, and education program

  • Strong communications skills, both oral and written

  • Candidates must possess an active TS/SCI clearance and be able to meet eligibility requirements for SCI access eligibility


Preferred Qualifications

  • Security training/certificate(s)

  • Knowledge of NIST Risk Management Framework (RMF) Security requirements

  • Experience developing and implementing OPSEC, emergency action and test plans

  • Knowledge of Access Control and Intrusion Detection Systems

  • Experience with SCIF/ TSCIF construction requirement and implementation

  • Experience conducting Security incident inquiries
