Job Description:
Leidos is looking for a Solutions Architect for a position in the Northern Virginia area. The position requires an active TS/SCI with Polygraph in order to be considered. The successful candidate will provide technical consultation, research and development (R&D) to large portfolio of projects and services supporting the customer, Mission Partners and the IC to ensure that the customer’s suite of services continue to meet community needs while conforming to customer standards.
Responsibilities include:
Requires ability to communicate with executive leadership (internally or client) regarding matters of significant importance to the organization/project
Provides technical direction to project managers, engineers and designated boards for integrating new technology in applications design and development
Provides architectural guidance and recommendation on AWS, DevOps tools, development languages, application services, databases, COTS/GOTS products, Linux and Windows operating systems
Prepares and presents briefings on various technologies to developers, project managers, customer governance boards, customer senior management and the IC
Provides technical expertise in systems architecture to influence development of solutions that impact strategic project/program goals and business results; assess feasibility of system plans; establish priorities; and develop and implement plans that adhere to established strategic business and system objectives
Analyze, define, and document requirements for data, workflow, logical processes, hardware and operating system environment, and network connectivity, other systems interfaces, internal and external checks and controls and outputs
Lead development of system prototypes to demonstrate application of design principles and to demonstrate proposed products and services will meet the requirements
Mapping of software projects to strategic roadmaps
Serve as the subject matter expert within technical domain area to various boards such as the architecture review board, engineering review board, and other working groups
Identify enterprise services that should be used within the component and also develop strategies for making projects into enterprise services
Provide complete assessments of the technical characteristics of proposals and alternatives considered in applications design
Recommends and develops new technical solutions, products, and/or standards in support of functions strategy and operations
Review and assess technical proposals requesting changes or upgrades to existing applications
Develops solutions that are highly innovative, and achieved through research and integration of best practices
Participate in the Technical Review Board
Monitor industry trends and directions; develop and present substantive technical recommendations to senior management
Apply Working Capital Fund processes and procedures to execution of technical, engineering and development of projects
Requirements:
Requires a bachelor degree with 12+ years of prior relevant experience OR Masters and 10 + years of experience
Must have a TS/SCI with poly to be considered
Experience with architecture of applications in C2S environment, as well as AWS security and cost modeling; AWS: CloudFormation Templates, Load Balancer, Autoscaling, Security Groups, S3 and KMS
Experience creating the various artifacts for C2S approvals (To-Be Architecture, Roadmap, Cost, Lambda etc.)
Familiarity with No-Relational Databases: MongoDB
Familiarity with relational Databases: Oracle RDS, MySQL and AWS RDS
Experience with services: REST Web Services
Programming experience demonstrating progressively more complex assignments
Experience with front-end and back-end development
Experience with Web technologies (cascading style sheets, JavaScript, jQuery, NodeJS, Angular etc.)
Understanding of X.509 certificates
Understanding of Java web servers (i.e. Tomcat)
Considerable recent knowledge of the Java language, supporting libraries, and commonly used frameworks like (but not limited to) Spring, Hibernate, and ibatis (myBatis)
Experience with JavaScript frameworks like EXT-JS
Experience explaining technical capabilities to both technical and non-technical audiences
Experience integrating COTS/GOTS products
Desired Skills:
ELK stack experience
Experience with Microsoft Azure
Experience with the ASAM (Applied Systems Architecture Model) or equivalent
Experience with Sponsor's Ruby on Rails platform
Experience with SharePoint development
Experience using the agile development framework (Schedule and Security Triage)
Experience working with SOLR - Elasticsearch
Experience with Mongo
Experience with Node.js
