Job Description:

Leidos is seeking a Technical Training Manager to lead a team of operations and maintenance Subject Matter Experts who provide training support of the AN/SQQ-89A(V)15 system. The position is part of a large program providing logistics, lifecycle, and installation support to NAVSEA PEO IWS5. Support includes all facets of training, with focus on curriculum development and execution. Both the hardware and software of the system are in spiral development, and the Technical Training Manager is responsible for ensuring all training products are developed in accordance with the Integrated Logistics Support Plan (ILSP), the Manpower, Personnel, and Training Plan, and meet the requirements of the PEO IWS 5 Product Support and Training Managers.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent experience, and 5+ years of prior relevant experience or Masters with 3+ years of prior relevant experience.

  • Significant supervisory experience whereby cost, schedule, and performance commitments have been achieved. 

  • Experience with DoD programs and their training requirements (operational and maintenance)

  • Excellent written communication and grammatical skills

  • Excellent organizational skills.

  • Must have and be able to maintain a DoD Secret Security Clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with AN/SQQ-89A(V)15 or APB Operations and capabilities

  • Experience with US Navy NTSP requirements and training development

  • Experience using SharePoint and MS Project

  • Travel may be required for this position

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Lead a team of training SMEs supporting US Navy and FMS products for the AN/SQQ-89A(V)15 system

  • Work closely with the PEO IWS 5 Training Manager to develop plans, concepts, and schedules for curriculum development, training execution, and technical training equipment upgrades

  • Be responsible for tasking, budget and schedule of all task elements

  • Develop and implement policies and procedures that will standardize our training support

  • Be responsible for identifying areas to improve products released to the fleet and champion an environment of continuous improvement along a defined technology road map

  • Provide subject matter expertise to analyze and evaluate Undersea Warfare (USW) system training methodology

  • Consolidate and produce Weekly and Monthly Status reports and schedules
