The Leidos JANUS Geography Program is seeking an Apprentice Geospatial Analyst (AGA) interns to support contracts centered on Feature Data production in support of National Geospatial Intelligence Agency. As a Geospatial Analyst you will apply proficient knowledge of ArcGIS while performing a range of geospatial analysis for an intelligence customer. The candidate should have a geospatial background and the ability to independently conduct research and initiate projects as they deem appropriate.
Provide support in geospatial analysis of satellite imagery to perform Feature Data extraction
Interact daily with supervisors and/or functional peer groups
Working knowledge of ArcGIS, ArcMap and ArcCatalog
Ability to digitize and edit points, lines, and polygons
Ability to utilize and manipulate layer symbology
Understanding definition queries and can create basic queries
Understanding of feature snapping and using the two snapping options of classic snapping vs snapping toolbar
Ability to differentiate between databases, feature sets, feature classes, and shapefiles
Possess basic aerial photo interpretation knowledge (determining features (roads, buildings, etc) on aerial/satellite photographs)
Current enrollment in a degree-granting program in a related discipline
US Citizenship required
Entry level knowledge of GIS vector data, schema structures, and imagery exploitation.
ESRI products including ArcGIS
