Leidos is hiring an EO/IR Space Signatures Analyst with an active TS/SCI clearance. All work is onsite at Wright Patterson AFB in Dayton, OH.
This position is fitting for an All-Source Analyst knowledgeable in foreign space systems, experienced in electro-optical signature characterization, and with the ability to manage large-scale data production. The successful candidate will provide support utilizing NASIC-developed modeling procedures including, but not limited to producing signature data using provided models, verification/evaluation of signature predictions against available measured data, production of standardized plots and tabular listings, and summary of methodology/key findings in written reports. This position will require working as part of a team comprised of military, government, and other contractors to achieve high confidence answers to problems of interest. The qualified candidate must also be able to work independently and have effective writing and verbal communication skills.
* Generating signatures of satellite/space vehicles using signature modeling software
* Assessing physical characteristics, performance, and capabilities of satellite systems
* Assessing Foreign Resident Space Object (RSO) operational characteristics, detection analysis, and target characterization/identification
* Produce high confidence answers to problems of interest
* Active TS/SCI security clearance
* BA/BS and 4+ years related experience OR MA/MS and 2+ yrs of experience (additional experience can be considered in lieu of degree)
* Strong analytical/communication skills; ability to work individually and with teams
* Comfortable navigating computer systems, running non-standard software, and running command-line scripts
*Experience in satellite/space vehicle systems
Experience in flight computers, navigation and control systems, circuits, and li-ion batteries
Satellite systems engineering and design
Ability to understand and analyze end item data package, test data and analysis in their specific functional areas
Knowledge of space engineering procedures, specifications, and standards
Ability to produce credible, independent technical analysis from raw test data/signatures
