This System Engineer position is responsible for requirements development, technical planning, system hardware-software-network design, development and integration test planning, verification and validation, and fielding. Evaluates alternatives including cost and risk, supportability and analyses for total systems. Duties include performing systems requirements development and analysis, functional analysis, trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition, technical management, integration, system testing, and quality assurance.
Requires BS degree and 12+ years of prior relevant experience or Masters with 10+ years of prior relevant experience. May possess a Doctorate in technical domain.

Knowledge and application of systems engineering processes across the product lifecycle (e.g., proposal, design, qualification, requirements qualification/verification, production, etc.). Demonstrated ability to work with multiple engineering fields to identify technical product characteristics to develop requirements specifications; writing requirements documentation and coordinating release through approval process; knowledge of requirements management and database tools (e.g., DOORS, ClearCase, ClearQuest, etc.).
Knowledge of Research, Development, Test, & Evaluation (RDT&E) Concepts and Interoperability or other Command and Control system concepts; Systems Engineering experience; Concept of Operations (CONOPS), System Architecting; Requirements definition, decomposition, and allocation; Requirements specifications; Requirements verification; Experience supporting large scale development and deployment programs; Experience in requirements development, verification processes, and tools.
As the Systems Engineer Lead for Modernization Requirements and Verification, you will: lead shoulder to shoulder meetings to gather operations team’s inputs, draft, review, and release requirements specification documents, including defining the requirements and verification baseline; draft, review, and release verification reports to support verification of parent requirements Coordinate with other components and the customer to analyze, decompose, and allocate system level requirements to lower level functional and physical/design requirements, ensure that all requirements are traceable and that changes are managed considering impacts to all stakeholders; define requirement verification success criteria and approaches; create and maintain requirements baselines; identify and resolve conflicts/issues within customer support organization requirements inputs and with other components and the customer; quickly become a proficient independent contributor with RVTM; and apply systems engineering change control process to retain control of the modernization requirements baseline.
