Leidos is seeking a Cybersecurity Legal Intern Intern in Reston, VA.
The legal department at Leidos has an opening for a Cybersecurity Legal Intern and is looking for a candidate who can devote approximately 20-25 hours per week to support cybersecurity and data protection governance activities. In the near term, this would involve reviewing updated draft IT policies and procedures and providing comments designed to promote clarity and consistency and to help demonstrate cybersecurity maturity in accordance with DFARS 252.204-7021 and related authorities. There will be some related work to research other areas for potential new or enhanced policies, procedures, or guidance documents such as in the areas of cloud computing, emerging technology, supply chain security, and incident response. It would help to have a technical background for this role but it is not essential as long as the candidate has a working understanding of technology and is eager to learn more. The work can be done virtually. This is an exciting opportunity to work in an emerging and evolving area of law for a leading government contractor.
Review and propose improvements to documents. Research emerging areas related to cybersecurity and provide analysis.
-Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Government Procurement or Cybersecurity or related degree with a Minimum GPA 3.0
-Legal experience or training either as a law student in good standing or LL.M. candidate
-Working understanding of technology and U.S. government contracting
