Leidos is hiring a Systems Engineer to provide direct support to the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) SAPCO element in Ft. Belvoir, VA. The candidate will collaborate with customer and program personnel in a fast paced, dynamic environment.
An active Top Secret clearance is required; candidate must be eligible for a TS/SCI. All work is onsite at Ft. Belvoir, VA.
Review program requirements, specs, test plans, and program plans to design security solutions for the successful development, testing, and fielding of missile defense capabilities.
Provide technical and security oversight for agency/directorate special program design, planning and management by guiding and implementing strategies to meet program needs/special demands crucial for effective program protection.
Discover information protection needs for missile defense sensor, interceptor, computer, and communications systems, and define system security requirements for these systems. Develop fully integrated system security architectures consistent with system technical performance and support the implementation of security designs. Help determine security classification of technical issues as they arise.
Evaluate future technology integration with respect to critical program information (CPI) protection requirements. Support horizontal protection studies and analyses to determine the value of specific classified technologies and ensure classifications are consistent with other department, agency, and directorate programs and elements.
Develop and implement directorate special security policies, procedures, standards, training, and methods to identify and protect directorate sensitive information, personnel, property, facilities, operations, or material from unauthorized disclosure, misuse, theft, assault, vandalism, espionage, sabotage, or loss.
Assist in establishing appropriate program protections beyond the collateral security structure and in development of new special programs.
Determine and/or execute special security actions for a wide range of assignments, such as: developing Program Protection Plans, Sensitive Test Plans, Security Classification Guides, Standard Operating Procedures, and Operational tactics/techniques in implementing special program protection.
Provide advice on the design and execution of sensitive ground testing (digital, HWIL) and flight testing
Develop technical and budget briefings for agency senior leadership, including congressional staffers, and the Office of the Secretary of Defense (OSD). Assist in responding to Congressional inquiries and senior OSD and Service briefings.
Support development of quarterly agency Director Program Review briefings. Support Director-level briefing coordination.
Draft and coordinate agency Program Annual Reports and briefings for senior leadership and congressional actions/responses. Assist in the review and development of special program annual report submissions.
Collaborate closely with government and agency contractor personnel in team environment; participate in team meetings. Provide technical indoctrinations to new personnel.
BS/BA in science/engineering with 5+ years of engineering experience
Military or government DoD experience
Active DoD Top Secret clearance with ability to obtain/maintain a TS/SCI
Excellent written and oral communication skills
2+ years DoD Acquisition experience and/or previous Army, Navy, Air Force Missile Defense experience
Experience working service or agency special programs
Current DoD TS/SCI clearance
