The Leidos Defense Group has a career opportunity for a Linux System Administrator in Stuttgart, Germany.

POSITION SUMMARY:
This program provides critical Communications and Information Technology Services to support U.S. Africa Command, U.S. European Command, Combined Joint Task Force - Horn of Africa, Southern European Task Force, and associated staff elements and organizations.  It provides our war fighters support in their mission to keep threats and vulnerabilities as low as possible by ensuring their computer network is stable, undisrupted and secure. This will require some OCONUS travel.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
•Maintain highly available operations of Linux computer systems and appliances.
•Application integration with directory services, assigning roles, provisioning hypervisors and storage for virtual infrastructure, as well as automated provisioning of guest operating systems and applications.  
•Install and maintain RHHI-V, Red Hat Satellite, Ansible Tower and GitLab
•Perform software updates and remediation scans.
•Perform STIG validation against operating systems, application servers and databases.
•Maintain Red Hat JBoss application servers.
•Maintain and troubleshoot Enterprise Linux OS issues where they arise (RHEL6+, CentOS 6+).
•Troubleshoot Agile Client application issues.
•Manage Red Hat Storage and Virtualization technologies on multiple security enclaves and sites.  
•Manage Red Hat Satellite 6 servers, ensure content hosts are patched and have compliant Errata installed. 
•Monitor and maintain Linux infrastructure leveraging tools such as Dell Open Manage Enterprise, ELK (Elasticsearch, Logstash and Kibana), Red Hat Satellite and Ansible Tower.  
•Produce and maintain processes and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
•Creation and maintenance of configuration items and other related documentation, in approved software version control system.  
•Monitor system performance and establishes performance baselines.
•Develop and monitor policies and standards for allocation related to the use of computing resources. 
•Make recommendations to purchase hardware and software. 
•Research and develop automated approaches for system administration tasks. Identifies approaches that leverage resources and provide economies of scale. 
•Performs daily system monitoring; verifies the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, systems, and key processes; reviews system and application logs; and verifies completion of scheduled jobs such as backups.
•Provide remote support and/or travel to customer sites as required. 
•Be on a scheduled on-call, and shift work may be required during exercises and contingencies.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
•BA/BS + 3 years recent specialized or AA/AS +7 years recent specialized or a major cert + 7 years recent specialized or 11 years of recent specialized experience.
•DoD 8570.1 Technical Level II Certification.  
•One of the following computing environment certification is required, will accept waiver if completed within 6 months of hire:
    o Solaris Certified Systems Administrator (SCSA) , or higher
      o Oracle Certified Associate (OCA), or higher
    o CompTIA Linux +
    o Red Hat Certified Systems Administrator (RHCSA)
    o VMWare – VCP6-DCV or higher
    o MCP – Windows Server 2012+
•Currently hold an adjudicated Secret Clearance and be able to obtain a TS/ SCI

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
•Experience in the following areas: Ansible, Puppet, Chef or any other automation system or product.
•Demonstrated proficiency in a shell language such as  Bash, Python, Perl or PowerShell.
•Prior experience with Programs of Record and command and control systems such as GCCS-J, GCCS-A, GCCS-M, GCCS-AF, DCGS-A, DCGS-M, DCGS-AF, TMBCS, JADOCS, JTCW, AIDE, etc.
