Leidos has an excellent opportunity for an experienced, self-directed, Systems Storage Administrator located in Vicenza, Italy.   
 
PROGRAM SUMMARY:
This program provides critical Communications and Information Technology Services to support U.S.  European Command (EUCOM).  It provides our war fighters support in their mission to keep threats and vulnerabilities as low as possible by ensuring their computer network is stable, undisrupted and secure. Assignment is at the Army installation in Northern Italy and will require some OCONUS travel. 


PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
•Enforce effective storage strategies according to commercial best practice through daily Operations and Management activities, ensuring data storage is accessible in a controlled and secured manner. 
•Evaluate the input and output of systems, as well as their overall architecture, to recommend improvements. 
•Assist with designing disaster recovery plans and enforcing backup and archive procedures. 
•Assist with designing and implementing solutions for data storage and maintenance. 
•Ensure that Storage Area Networks (SANs), Network Attached Storage (NASs) and associated technologies provide expected benefits (e.g., storage operations appropriately store information for later retrieval and keep such information appropriately secured). 
•Upgrade software, applying patches, and ensuring the physical security of data. 
•Create specific reports and metrics for performance and data usage using office automation applications. 
•Identify system and application needs to obtain required storage then configure the system/application to store data in the allocated space. 
•Manage allocated storage to avoid incidents caused by lack of capacity. 
•Make recommendations for increased storage capacity as required. 
•Establish, update, and analyze system authentication protocols and ensures that systems are optimized and waste minimal resources. 
•Document processes, procedures, upgrades and the resolution of problems. 
•Administer storage networks, servers and their associated schedules. 
•Maintain hardware maintenance equipment inventory.
•Provide assistance via remote access, phone, or in person. 
•Provide inputs and recommendations to infrastructure engineering designs, builds, and escalated support to services and products. 
•Support network engineering activities that span across multiple PWS sections.
•Provide escalated support to incident management. 
•Support engineering efforts to design, build, test, integrate, transition, implement, document, and train when transitioned to IT Operations Management.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
•BA/BS + 3 years recent specialized experience; or AA/AS + 7 years recent specialized experience; or a major cert + 7 years recent specialized experience or 11 years of recent specialized experience.
•Netapp Certification (NCDA).
•Experience with network storage (SAN/NAS).
•CompTIA Security + (IAT Level II or greater).
•Must have an active Secret security clearance and be able to obtain a TS/SCI.


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
•ITIL v3/v4 – Foundation.
•CompTIA A+/Network+.
•Automation using Microsoft PowerShell, VBScript, or batch files.
•Adaptable to changing circumstances and operational needs.
•Understanding of Department of Defense Military standards.
•Experience with DoD IT security requirements.
