Job Description:

SUMMARY: Under limited direction from divisional Product Development Director, accountable for all aspects of product management across the division collaborating strongly with business areas, marketing and the divisions existing and future customers. Responsible to define the product roadmaps short, medium and long term.


Drive product strategies that address market trends, customer needs and competitive positioning.  Manage the entire product lifecycle, from strategic to tactical activities.

Define and develop product strategy and direction; define and prioritize product requirements, features and functionality in collaboration with the development teams, develop product roadmaps; recommend product direction that ensures aggressive product presence and continued sales success.

Direct development groups during the development cycle to ensure product meets customer requirements

Collaborate with marketing to create internally and externally focused product collateral and to define the product message including necessary branding and marketing strategies

Assist in the generation of statements of work and specifications; estimation of product or service costs and negotiation of contract prices, financial terms and program requirements

Provide direction, guidance and in-depth assistance to program teams working on major programs

Research market conditions and regulatory requirements, nationally and internationally, to determine potential sales of product

Prepare product comparison for performance, customer preferences, market size, trends, forecasts and recommendations; utilize the comparison information to drive and improve competitive position of products

Prepare and deliver presentations to management on area involved in marketing plans and analysis, product selection, and changing business environments

Represent the company at conferences and trade shows

Key point of contact for any sector or segment product management activities or initiatives

Develop close working relationships across the business at division, sector and segment levels


Significant experience in strong technical and execution role.

Through understanding of products and product development.

Significant exposure to customers and customer relationship management

Business focus with strong technical background, well developed analytical skills and excellent project management skills.  Demonstrated ability to interact and cooperate with all levels.
