Leidos program is seeking a Communications Writer/Editor to support efforts for SMIT; responsible for development and submission of standardized customer leadership facing briefs, meeting facilitation for key customer and company boards, award fee development and special projects. SMIT is the largest IT services program for the Navy. The Leidos team will deliver the core backbone of the Navy-Marine Corps Intranet, including cybersecurity services, network operations, service desk, and data transport. Ultimately, Leidos will support the Navy in unifying its shore-based networks and data management to improve capability and service while also saving significant dollars by focusing efforts under one enterprise network.
The selected candidate will author, compile, edit, and proof presentations, deliverable documents and programmatic documentation through internal approval processes and to customer and business operation schedules. He/she will ensure that presentation and documents conform to program standards and Data Item Description (DID) requirements, and will work with the program, engineering and operations teams to collect content and status of the documents to program and customer standards. He/she will have primary responsibility for development and delivery of contractually required, time sensitive program governance materials. He/she will work closely with customer, program and technical staff and will be responsible for managing multiple assignments simultaneously.

Oversee the collection and organization of information, and preparation, editing, revision and status for contractual program related meetings, program governance meetings, and presentations.
Interface with customer, government and internal leadership, product and service subject matter experts to collect information and status for contractual program related meetings and presentations.
Track, log, and communicate program actions and issues at assigned meetings.
Work closely with program Data Management staff to ensure document configuration management (CM) and version control for all deliverables assigned.
Support an internal document Sharepoint library of all assigned deliverables
Assist in contributing and editing of program style guides.
Provide or coordinate special documentation services as required, which may include collection, development, editing, and peer review of proposals, training, and other materials as assigned.
Requires a BA degree and 2-4 years of prior relevant experience or Masters with less than 2 years of prior relevant experience.
US Citizen and DoD Secret Clearance
Excellent writing and editing skills, and knowledge of style guidelines.
Experience effectively formatting and editing program documents, publications and proposals, including writing, editing, and illustrating using the MS Office Suite
Experience working with system engineers, software engineers, and program management to translate technical information into clear, concise documentation to include customer presentations and program materials
Must be able to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
Must be capable of performing high quality work in a fast-moving environment
Excellent editorial discernment and judgment.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
Excellent attention to detail, good organizational skills, very strong proofreading abilities.
Ability to handle multiple projects on tight deadlines.
Knowledge of grammar and ability to follow style guidelines.

Experience with Navy/DoD programs, NMCI highly desirable.
