What is a GEOINT Chief Mission Officer (CMO), and what will this amazing opportunity offer you?
The GEOINT Chief Mission Officer (CMO) has current and historical expertise in our customers’ operational analytic and production tradecraft, systems, workflows, tools, and methodologies. The CMO supports Leidos business development, engineering and leadership working on programs, research and development and new business capture, providing guidance and expertise to these teams based on their insight and experience as an analyst. The CMO interprets customer requirements, preferences, biases, workflows and use cases for Leidos teams so that we may build and deliver mission-relevant systems that operational users will understand, adopt and embrace. Likewise, the CMO interprets Leidos capabilities and value proposition to customers and their representatives so they may embrace the mission value Leidos delivers. The CMO meets frequently with customer analysts, their leadership and their representatives in service to these duties.
The CMO will often serve as “front person” for demonstrations of Leidos technical capabilities, acting as primary speaker, demonstrator and / or operator of these capability demonstrations. The CMO serves as the bridge, or interpreter, between Leidos and our customers’ mission experts as our customer modernizes their systems. These modernization efforts include, for example, cloud-computing migration, implementation of computer vision, machine learning, analytic modeling, object-based production, exploitation of new sensor types e.g. imagery / video / WAMI / GMTI, new geographic information systems (GIS) implementations and others. The CMO must demonstrate in-depth experience / expertise in the GEOINT domain.
