Leidos is seeking a Sr. Physicist to support the Air Force’s development, production, deployment, and sustainment of hardware and system modifications for Intercontinental Ballistic Missile (ICBM) Ground and Airborne Launch Control Systems, Launch Facilities and associated infrastructure.
Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:
The application of scientific principles to develop and implement model-based analyses and simulations of nuclear weapons effects to define performance requirements that guide engineers in the design, development, deployment, and sustainment of systems that will operate in extremely hostile environments.

Blast and Shock Effects
Nuclear Thermal Radiation Effects
Source Region Electromagnetic Pulse Effects (SREMP)
Transient Radiation Electronic Effects (TREE)
System Generated Electromagnetic Pulse (SGEMP)
High Altitude Electromagnetic Pulse (HEMP)
Coupling of electromagnetic energy to electronic components
Mentoring to guide and train other science and engineering professionals regarding the science of nuclear effects, related tools and analytical approaches.
MS degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university
15+ years demonstrated systems engineering and/or science experience
Strong interpersonal skills, communication (oral and written), and presentation skills
Capable in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Powerpoint)
US CITIZENSHIP and an active DoD Secret Clearance are required for this position
Phd degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university
Experience with radiation effects or similar field experience
Experience with weapons system development and sustainment (especially Minuteman III or similar military or industry experience)
Familiarity with MIL-STD-1766
