Leidos is currently seeking a full-time Assistant Study Coordinator to support the Deployment Health Research Department at the Naval Health Research Center in San Diego, CA. The mission of the Deployment Health Research Department is to examine how specific factors and experiences effect on the overall physical and mental health of service members and their families. This position is responsible for coordinating all aspects of study implementation, for study start-up, protocol execution, participant enrollment, data collection, and data management. Primarily, this position will be required to be on-site at the Naval Health Research Center with some tele-work and occasional travel for data collections and/or conference presentations, as needed.
Description of Responsibilities:
Provide consultation and expert advice regarding the management of study operations.
Plan and execute short- and long-term data collection objectives
Manage operations workflow by developing schedules, gathering resources, implementing productivity standards, maintaining reference manuals, and implementing new procedures
Develop Institutional Review Board protocols, modifications, and continuing reviews
Submits Office of Management and Budget and Report Control Symbol documents for renewal, as well as other study-essential interagency agreements.
Coordinate meetings with internal and external collaborators
Create weekly team meeting agendas and updates; lead study meetings
Develop and present study information to individuals, groups, and study participants
Designs and implements both email and direct mail marketing strategies for participant engagement and retention
Designs a variety of marketing mail pieces and works with the marketing company’s personnel on all aspects of the print process.
Critically review and approve proofs and ensure mailings are executed correctly. Work with vendors to budget and create participant incentives.
Monitor and provide guidance for updates for the study website, the study’s Manual of Operations, and all social marketing sites.
Independently investigate and resolve any complications regarding study operations including material storage, equipment failures, and website maintenance and management
Direct the creation of online survey instruments, track team comments, and ensure all versions are tested with applicable quality control procedures.
Manage the collection and organization of data for research projects
Establish and maintain database for research projects
Respond to study participant concerns
Establish and implement quality assurance measures in accordance with scientific review board requirements.
Bachelor’s Degree in Public Health, Psychology, or related field.
Minimum of two years of work experience in a research setting
Security Clearance: Due to federal contract restrictions, candidate must be a U.S. citizen and able to obtain a Secret Clearance.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Skilled in use of word processing, spreadsheet, email, and database software. Must be well-organized and detail-oriented.
Ability to follow detailed instructions.
Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize work to meet project deadlines. Ability to facilitate communication among supervisors, peers, and supervisees.
Master’s degree in public health, psychology, or related field
Three or more years of experience working in a research setting
Proven ability to write IRB protocols and study agreements
