Job Description:

The Leidos Civil Treasury team is recruiting for a Data Architect to support our customer in the Washington, DC area.

The Data Architect is responsible for the design, planning, and implementation of the GSOC data warehouse, storage schema, and optimization.  The data architect will have experience with both structured (relational) and unstructured (NoSQL) databases.  The Data Architect shall have hands on experience with using Hadoop or Hadoop-like tools.  The Data Architect shall make recommendations on where data should be stored, how to optimize the storage schema, and how to optimize analyst queries.  In the current GSOC implementation, the Data Architect is not staffed as a full-time position.  The contractor may recommend alternative staffing levels if deemed appropriate.

  • Is responsible for the design and development of methods, processes, and systems to consolidate and analyze structured and unstructured, diverse and/or large data sets from disparate sources.
  • Is familiar with the principals of related disciplines such as Natural Language Processing, Machine Learning, Predictive modeling, Statistical Analysis and Hypothesis testing.
  • Identifies meaningful insights and interprets and communicates findings and recommendations.
  • May develop information tools, algorithms, dashboards, and queries to monitor and improve business performance.
  • Maintains awareness of emerging analytics and big-data technologies.
  • Works to achieve key project/program objectives and deliverables.
  • Responsible for entire projects or processes spanning multiple technical areas.
  • Manages large projects or processes
  • Develops solutions to complex technical issues and problems that impact multiple area or disciplines.
  • Regularly employs ingenuity and creativity to develop new technical solutions and systems in order to achieve functional objectives.
  • Communicates with internal team members across multiple areas and client team members.
  • May communicate with parties external to the organization (e.g., sub-contractors, vendors, etc.).

Basic Qualifications

  • U.S. Citizen
  • Requires BS degree and 8+ years of prior relevant experience
  • Active Top Secret Clearance or ability to obtain
  • Requires expert knowledge of and ability to apply advanced technical principles, theories, and concepts.
