The Defense Group of Leidos has a current open position for a Systems Engineer Project Coordinator.

We are seeking a Systems Engineer Project Coordinator looking to advance their skillset and work with our team to coordinate and manage the delivery of innovative solutions for our customers. You will work in a fast-paced and diverse environment, and will have a management team that encourages your career development and growth.  In this role, you will continue to hone your technical skills while gaining many intangible skills, such as project schedule, process auditing and risk management, critical thinking and problem solving, the ability to communicate complicated problems in a concise manner, as well as solve complex problems.     

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Provide hands-on technical expertise, working on all aspects of systems hardware and software.

  • Work with the team and customers to gather customer into the Requirements Traceability Matrices (RTM).

  • Analyze requirements and design solutions meeting those customer requirements.

  • Evaluate solutions being provided to the customer advising the team on alternatives when needed.

  • Perform functional and business requirements analysis, IT applications analysis and IT infrastructure analysis to create and present to our customers selected Course of Action (COA) recommendations.

  • Create, track, plan, organize, review and assist with and coordinate the completion of projects ensuring these projects are on time, and within scope of the requirements to successfully deliver all elements of the project.

  • Recognizes, diagnoses, researches and resolves system and design concerns.

  • Provide leadership and customers with updates, status of projects, while communicating assessments and risks to customer  and Leidos program team   

  • Coordinate customer meetings, assessments and reporting activities.      

  • Provide support to our customers.

  • Participate in the Project Review meetings with the leadership and our customers.     

  • Manage and track all Statement of Work (SOW) deliverables and artifacts to be delivered to the customer.

  • Create, document, and establish organization policies, standards, and operating procedures.

  • Help Senior Project Manager manage cost / time / scope metrics.

  • Responsible to capture weekly program status to draft weekly reports for customer and program.

The ideal candidate for this position will be highly effective at accomplishing the above tasks while also implementing creative solutions to unexpected situations that may arise. This candidate must be highly proficient at managing multiple tasks at once and communicating progress to achieve expected deadlines. Additionally, this candidate will have a keen sense for process improvements and act as a self-starter to implement these changes. Maintaining active communication with team members to efficiently accomplish tasks and receiving real-time feedback to implement effectively are vital to this role; therefore, strong verbal and written communication skills are critical. A successful Systems Engineer Project Coordinator will actively build professional relationships with internal and external customers.

Basic Qualifications:

  • BS degree and 8+ years of prior relevant experience or a Masters degree and 6+ of relevant working experience additional years of relevant experience will be accepted in lieu of degree. 

  • Current Security+ ce (or equivalent certification). 

  • Must have relevant vendor certification such as Linux+ or Microsoft Server (or equivalent).

  • Experience with Linux Red Hat 7x, 8x or Microsoft Server 2016, 2019. 

  • Ability to perform functional and business requirements analysis.

  • Experience with the following Gitlab and Jira.
