The Leidos Defense Group has an opportunity for an Enterprise Operations Manager supporting Air Force users in the National Capital Region. While the position is based at Joint Base Andrews (JBA) in Maryland, the team operates out of Joint Base Anacostia-Bolling (JBAB) in DC and the Pentagon in Virginia, and requires work out of all three locations on a regular basis. The position will be responsible for leading the Enterprise Operations team in support of the Air Force 844th Communications Group on both NIPRnet and SIPRnet domains at locations throughout the National Capital Region (NCR), primarily at JBA, JBAB, Pentagon. The Enterprise Operations team includes 30+ staff across a wide range of technical disciplines, providing Tier 2 and Tier 3 support for the entire infrastructure and platform services hosted on-premise for the Air Force in the NCR. The infrastructure includes Windows and Linux systems, VMware-based virtualization, MS SQL and Oracle databases, and associated data center network capabilities such as load balancing and 802.1x policy enforcement. Candidate will be responsible for maintaining Tier 2 and Tier 3 support in regards to operational incidents, requests, and changes in a highly dynamic and demanding environment.
Responsible for managing a team of experienced professionals who are sitting at three physically diverse locations – JBAB, JBA, and the Pentagon.
Leads, directs and reviews the work of the team who are independent on their assignments.
Provides primary input to hiring, firing, promotion, performance and rewards decisions for direct reports as well as time-and-material subcontractors operating in a blended Leidos-subcontractor team.
Duties may include updating to new systems, as well as support on current systems by tuning performance, allocating storage space, and implementing critical system patches.
Responsible for creating and maintaining system documentation to include diagrams, configuration details, admin guides, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
Duties may include updating to next gen technology, managing legacy systems, and coordination with multi-functional team support to ensure a high quality product for customers.
Meet with clients to take detailed ordering briefs and clarify specific requirements of each project.
Track task and project performance of the direct reports, specifically to analyze the successful completion of short- and long-term goals.
Application of security settings and other commercial best practices such as DISA STIGs.
Meet budgetary objectives and make adjustments to project constraints based on financial analysis.
Works to influence project\team leaders regarding solution design, process and/or approaches.
Utilizes expert knowledge of and ability to apply advanced principles, and concepts.
Bachelor's degree in a relevant technical discipline and 12+ years or prior relevant experience or Masters with 10+ years of prior relevant experience, in lieu of a degree additional years of specific experience will be accepted.
5+ years of technical team lead experience.
Candidate must possess (or be capable of acquiring within 30 days) DOD 8570 certification at least IAT Level II (e.g., Security+ and Windows Server 2016 CE).
Experience researching, testing, and implementing DISA STIGs, applying security patches, using and applying Group Policies (GPOs) and local security policies, and remediating vulnerabilities per compliance requirements and deadlines.
Advanced time management and analytical skills.
Excellent client-facing communication skills.
Must have a full DoD Secret Clearance at start. Top Secret preferred.
Experience leading a technical team of at least 25 staff desired.
Experience leading a team responsible for IT operations and sustainment desired.
Certifications in applicable technologies desired.
