The Leidos team supporting the Assistant Secretary of the Air Force for Energy, Installations, and Environment (SAF/IE) has an opening for a Climate Change Analyst at the Pentagon in Arlington, VA; position will be partial on-site and partial telework.
The position entails providing policy expertise and programmatic support to the Deputy Assistant Secretary of the Air Force for Installations and requires an understanding of both climate change policy and the organizational structure of the Department of Defense.
Support development and implementation of Air Force-specific policies for installations, infrastructure, and operational energy as they relate to climate mitigation, adaptation, and resiliency.
Coordinate mandated Air Force reporting on climate change initiatives, and craft and coordinate formal responses to inquiries from Congress and the Office of the Secretary of Defense and in response to Executive Orders.
Provide programmatic support for climate change governance meetings, to include invite coordination, note taking, and issuance and tracking of action items.
Assist in communication and outreach by developing communication products and updating internal websites.
Brief Air Force leadership on the status of various climate change initiatives.
Bachelors’ Degree with minimum 8 years of applicable experience.
DoD Secret clearance.
Experience working with the Department of Defense.
Experience in the development and implementation of Department of Defense policy.
Experience providing Subject Matter Expertise regarding climate change science, impacts, and adaptation and mitigation measures.
Experience supporting Headquarters Air Force, Air Staff, or Air Force General Officers.
Experience authoring professional communications to Congress and governmental agencies.
