Job Description:

The Leidos Defense Group expects to have an opening for a Software Application Programmer to develop training program management software in support of the Navy submarine power plant training program.  This work will be performed in an office environment on a desktop computer.  Candidate will be a member of a multi-disciplinary team consisting of Navy, Government civilian, and contractor personnel (including from the prime contractor, Fluor Marine Propulsion (FMP) LLC and other subcontractors supporting the Navy power plant training program. Shall assist Fluor Marine Propulsion (FMP) LLC in the design and development of interactive software applications, including the recommendation of methods and software. PLEASE NOTE THIS POSITION HAS NOT BEEN FUNDED YET.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or Information Technology with five (5) years of professional experience or equivalent combined education/experience.

  • Experience in the development and maintenance of business software applications, systems and products involving interactive user interfaces.

  • Proficient in the development of interactive software applications using object-oriented software (e.g., C#, Typescript, JQuery, Angular) methodologies and practices.

  • Experience working with the BMPC's subject matter experts to generate technical specifications to implement desired functionality/interactivity into software applications.

  • Be proficient in the development and maintenance of business software applications.                                              

  • Must have active or current final U.S. Secret security clearance before starting work. We strongly prefer candidates with active or current clearances but will consider opening background investigations for outstanding candidates whose clearance statuses are listed as inactive at this time.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with Navy technical training is a plus.

  • Excellent communication skills is a plus.

  • Comfortable using Microsoft Office programs.

  • Able to work in a fast paced environment.

  • Experience developing software applications for any branch of the Armed Forces is a plus.

  • Successful candidate will be a self-starter who is able to work as a member of a virtual team with members at other geographic locations.

  • Active or current U.S. Government security clearance is a plus.
