Job Description:

Leidos is currently seeking a Systems Engineer/Lab Manager supporting an Information Assurance Program in Linthicum, MD. The selected individual shall be responsible for the planning, build-out and design of a Program test lab environment in a Federal space and ensure that all lab systems are test ready. Must be a self-starter with strong collaboration skills that can operate autonomously or with a team. Duties include providing subject matter expertise to the government for the design/acquisition and installation of test lab equipment in a networked lab equipment.

The individual shall make recommendations to the government to acquire necessary IT equipment/system components; Identify hardware and software needs and recommend IT equipment to meet the needs of the users; Manage the receipt and installation of equipment; Perform daily system administration and troubleshooting for users during test scenarios on the system; Provide support to government customers to meet system engineering requirements to address the operational needs of DOD Programs; Engineer, deploy, and maintaining new capabilities in the lab; Install operating systems onto workstations; Identify and take corrective action to resolve hardware software issues; Maintain the lab environment to include ensuring system tokens and certificates are kept current; Proactively collaborate with Program test leads to conduct inventories of test lab equipment and material; Maintain and support system images; Work closely with stakeholders to maintain proper configurations per the customer’s testing requirements. Assist with and perform security assessments of lab and production equipment. Deploy Information Assurance Vulnerability Alerts (IAVAs) or equivalents to perform system security scans of equipment and software suites in accordance with the System Security Plans, DOD and Program requirements.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills:

  • Must have a BS Degree in IT, Computer Science, Computer Information Systems or equivalent along with at least 14 years or more of experience in building out lab environments from the ground up;
  • Must be knowledgeable in Windows operating systems with the ability to administer and manage complex Windows installations (Windows 10, Windows Server 2012r2);
  • Must have experience in a System Administration role supporting a software configuration management and development environment;
  • Should have experience with Network Security Technologies including PKI, Vulnerability Assessments, Multiple Domains, and/or SSPs;
  • Must have the ability to administer and manage networking infrastructures, including firewalls, routers, and switches;
  • Must have the ability to quickly and dynamically change systems/network configurations to accommodate customer development/testing schedules.
