Leidos has a dynamic position to support the SBIRS the equipment integration team.  The position is located at Buckley Space Force Base, Colorado, while supporting Schriever Space Force Base, Colorado. This position will support the government as they modernize the SBIRS system and its follow-on programs. This is a chance to work on a team tightly integrated with the government sponsor.

Primary Responsibilities

This position works closely with the commercial installers and the government integration team to verify power, cooling and data processing equipment installations meet the contract requirements.  In addition, the position will work with the engineering team to capture the modifications in the Facilities and Maintenance Equipment Management System (FAMEMS).  This 3D database provides a real-time representation of the SBIRS facilities to display floor space, cable runs, equipment racks and power connections.

This position works about 60% of its time with the configuration management and quality assurance task and about 40% of the time supporting the FASMEMS program.

The day-to-day responsibilities for this position include:

  • Physical configuration audits of equipment installations

  • Redlining engineering drawing to document discrepancies

  • Attend weekly meetings as necessary, to identify local government furnished equipment is relocated internally in the facilities to support mission needs

  • Facilitating entry and exit of installation teams into restricted areas

  • Monitoring installation schedules for deconfliction with other installations

  • Quality assessment of workmanship and fitness, based on contract requirements

  • Reporting status of up to 10 ongoing modifications, weekly and monthly

  • Updating the FAMEMS database using MS access and SolidEdge or SolidWorks

  • - Establish/create a facility baseline, identify and update facility drawings within the facility management program, to reflect new or upgraded hardware installations

  • Supporting other FAMEMS team member

  • Reporting software problems with the FAMEMS coding

Basic Qualifications

  • Requires a Bachelors Degree and 4 plus years’ experience in electrical or mechanical disciplines (additional experience may be substituted in lieu of a degree)

  • Experience in facilities management to include modifications and maintenance. 

  • Active DoD TS/SCI Clearance, personnel without a TS clearance and SCI eligibility will not be considered.

  • The ability to read and redline engineering drawings

  • Three years’ experience working systems integration, preferably with power distribution or HVAC

Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong writing skills to capture integration progress in weekly and monthly reports

  • Ability to work in a dynamic environment with several lateral contracting organizations

  • Experience with power distribution to equipment racks and heavy facilities-equipment (Needed to monitor subcontractor work)

  • Experience with heating Ventilation and Air Condition (HVAC) installations (Needed to monitor subcontractor work)

  • 3D drafting experience with any of the following:  Solid Edge, SOLIDWORKS, AutoCAD, Revit

  • Experience using SQL with Microsoft Access and Visual Basic

  • Experience with Air Force technical orders, technical drawings and configuration management is a plus
