The Defense Airborne Solutions Group currently has a dynamic opportunity for a Software Integration Licensing Manager located in Aberdeen, MD, in support of the Sustainment Contract for Operations and Logistics (SCOL) program.

As the Software Integration Licensing Manager, you will maintain the development stack, perform software integration and documentation within the development environment, maintain software licensing, and assist with the software acquisition and software obsolescence management for the Airborne Reconnaissance Low – Enhanced (ARL-E) platform. In this role, you will report to the Software Integration Lead located in Aberdeen, MD and work with various other teams, including government representatives and sub-contractors, to ensure the success of the program. This position, typically works from 8am to 5pm eastern time with a 1-hour lunch.  Travel to Aberdeen, MD and El Paso, TX along with various mission sites is possible as the mission dictates. Current travel needs are estimated to be 25% or less a year.

Primary Responsibilities

The position is has three key responsibilities: Licensing Compliance, Software Acquisition and Obsolescence Management, Development Server Architectural Design and Maintenance, and Assisting the System Integration Engineers with the Development Environment.

Within the scope of Licensing Compliance, you will assisting leadership with the analysis and compliance of the end user licenses agreements (EULA) from each software component installed or required by the ARL-E platform. This task will involve the gathering the necessary information from each software vendor to be able to evaluate the platform compliance with respect to vendor licensing.  You will provided this information to the Platform Software Lead for review and then to the Product Support team for action.

Within the duties of Software Acquisition and Obsolescence, this position works directly with the Product Support team to identify specific software licensing sort falls and/or over purchases to develop a strategy to correct the deltas.  Through your analyses of the software EULAs and compatibly charts, you will provide obsolescence dates and identify replacements.

With the Development Server Stack, this position is responsible for ensuring the architecture meets the needs and is accessible to the System Integration Engineers.  You will have sole responsibility and require a deep understanding of the architecture and maintenance of this environment, where you will develop technical solutions by collaborating with Integration Engineers.   This is a critical component of the sustainment of the ARL-E platform and to meet the program goals, you will design and deployment several enhancement.

Lastly, you will assist the System Integration Engineers as time permits.  This will include the installation, configuration, security lockdowns, documentation, and testing of software in the development environment.   

Basic Qualifications

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Top Secret /SCI clearance

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related technical discipline with 8+ years’ of experience or a Master’s degree with 6+ years of related experience; additional years of related work experience required in lieu of a degree

  • Civilian and/or military experience with DoD Information Technology infrastructure

  • Background and understanding of software licensing compliance

  • Background and understanding of IT infrastructure architecture, deployment, and management

  • Background in operation system installation, troubleshooting, and management (ESXi, Windows, and Linux)

  • Proven experience with design, implementation, and troubleshooting of TCP/IP networks

  • Possess strong troubleshooting, problem solving, and organizational skills.

  • Must have the ability to identify innovative solutions to extremely complex, multi-faceted technical problems

  • A minimum of 25% travel may be required to support activities at each of the primary duty locations as well as CONUS and OCONUS operational sites.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of aircraft integration and operations

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a CI Poly

  • Scripting (BASH, PowerShell, and XML)

  • Java Programming (debugging and code review)

  • Database administration (MS-SQL, Oracle, PS-SQL, etc.)

  • ISR Sensor installation, configuration, and maintenance
