The Leidos Health Group is seeking to fulfill the requirement for a self-motivated and detail-oriented Biostatistician to conduct analyses of healthcare associated infections (HAIs) needed to populate a social network analysis tool or other modelling activities for the CDC public health surveillance project in Atlanta, GA.
To provide needed analysis to support programmatic activities, and to provide expertise in managing and analyzing large and/or complex databases. Knowledge of surveillance and analysis. Experience with a variety of different groups in various disciplines. Thorough understanding of statistical methods including, but not limited to, linear , logistic and conditional logistic regression models, as well as, survey statistics.
This project requires strong epidemiological, statistical, data management and SAS or R programming expertise.
This task requires 1) using research methodology and data collection tools to ensure that appropriate healthcare epidemiology, HAI and adverse events data are gathered, 2) strong SAS, Matlab or R programming skills; 3) conducting data analyses including but not limited to Bayesian inference, Markov Chain Monte Carlo (MCMC); 4) importing, exporting, and manipulating data files (SAS, R), including recoding, transforming, and creating variables to accommodate analytic needs; 5) Extracting data from appropriate sources including surveillance systems and special studies for COVID-19 and healthcare associated infections 6) preparing weekly reports and dissemination of scientific information in accordance with the analytical results, including providing support for the development of manuscripts and presentations for scientific and public audiences 7) in conjunction with CDC investigators, create code or analyses to be executed or included in mathematical models and performing other analytical and data related duties, as needed.
Bachelor’s Degree in Statistics, Biostatistics, or Math and 6 years of experience or MS, MPH, MSPH and 4 years of experience.
Experience with statistical data analysis and use of data analysis tools (e.g. SAS, R, Matlab, RedCap, SQL). Experience with epidemiological studies, laboratory studies, prevention research and other selected forms of studies /research conducted by CDC
