Job Description:

The Government Health and Safety Solutions Operation is seeking an Azure Data Engineer in Atlanta, GA.

Day to Day:

  • Design, Develop, and Implement production data pipelines using the Azure stack of tools and services working in a collaborative environment within a cross-functional team.  
  • Will migrat complex data pipelines from on-premise into production-ready data pipelines to the Azure cloud for use in data visualization, analysis, and reporting.
  • Experience building and configuring data workflows using Azure data factory, Azure Stream Analytics, and Azure SQL Database/Warehouse.
  • Experience using Azure Databricks, Delta Lake, Lake House, Pyspark, and Scala
  • Azure Data Factory - Experience developing data pipelines and data flow tasks apply complex data manipulation and integration from a variety of data sources and destinations.
  • Azure Logic Apps, (sometimes called “Power Automate”) - workflow development experience or knowledge
  • SQL Server - Experience creating complex stored procedures, high performance views, triggers and SQL queries, tables and functions
  • Attend team planning meetings, backlog refinement, daily stand-ups, and demo developed solutions to customers.  

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree and 5+ years of experience designing, developing, and implementing data pipelines using MS Azure.
  • Hands on experience migrating complex data pipelines from on-premise into production-ready data pipelines to the Azure cloud for use in data visualization, analysis, and reporting.
  • Experience building and configuring data workflows using Azure data factory, Azure Stream Analytics, and Azure SQL Database/Warehouse.
  • Experience using Azure Databricks, Delta Lake, Lake House, Pyspark, and Scala
  • Azure Data Factory - Experience developing data pipelines and data flow tasks apply complex data manipulation and integration from a variety of data sources and destinations.
  • Azure Logic Apps, (sometimes called “Power Automate”) - workflow development experience or knowledge
  • SQL Server - Experience creating complex stored procedures, high performance views, triggers and SQL queries, tables and functions
  • Proficiency writing SQL queries and scripts.
  • Ability to multi-task based on the project priorities and deliver the solutions on-time with good quality
  • Strong understanding of the enterprise data architecture and data quality controls
  • Experience with Version control tools – git
  • Some development experience with C#, .net or PowerShell since they will use Visual Studios
  • Team player who thrives in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
  • Write technical documentation and system architectures
  • Knowledge of Agile Development methodologies and the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC).

Plus, but not required:

  • Hands on experience with R programming.
  • Any of the following: Azure Data Engineer Certification, Azure Solution Architect, Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate, Solutions Expert or Database Administrator
  • Knowledge of Power BI a plus, but not required
  • Experience and/or interest working in Public Health.
  • The candidate will ideally be located in Atlanta, GA area.
