Job Description:

Leidos is looking for Data Scientists who want to be responsible for the collecting, cleaning and munging of data to facilitate natural language processing (NLP). The candidate must be familiar  with NLP contextual  analysis in order to judge the suitability to enable information for discovery and decision support. Our data scientist are part detectives and business analysis. The detective work comes in handy when parsing, clustering, and stratifying the data to find and amplify signals in the data. The business analysis is used to determine what signals they should look for based their understanding of the client’s business goals for collecting the data. 

These are the fun things you will be doing on the job:
Be responsible for handling  and directing technical teams to extract, transform, and load for  features to support NLP for multi-domain datasets. You will be customizing and creating various machine learning algorithms to multi-domain data and determine and implement ways to optimize that performance of those algorithms on the data. 

Employ NLP  libraries/toolkits like Stanford CoreNLP, Spacy, NLTK, Word2Vec and Gensim along transformer models like BERT. With those models and libraries, explore subjects like domain adaptation both with supervised and unsupervised approaches. Build domain adaptive prototypes to examine the operational capabilities of bi-directional learning. Need to be a self-starter and honestly self-assessing to know when to seek assistance. Also, the position requires you to conduct research, document that research, submit your research for publication, and present your research at conference and other public forums.

Skills you need to be successful in this role:
•    Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science or related field and at least 6 years of relevant experience or Masters with 4 years’ experience or 4 additional years of experience in lieu of Bachelor's degree.
•    Must be able to obtain TS/SCI with Poly security clearance
•    Good understanding of machine learning algorithms, tools and platforms
•    Experience in at least three of these Toolkits: NumPy, SciPy, scikit-learn, TensorFlow, Pytorch, Keras, Genism, vow pal wabbit, Stanford CoreNLP, ,  etc.
•    Understanding of programming fundamentals
•    Python proficiency
•    Self-starter and intellectual curiosity
•    Great communication skills, ability to explain predictive analytics to non-technical audience
•    Proficiency in data exploration techniques and tools

You will wow us even more if you have these skills:
•    Experience programming machine learning algorithms for GPUs
•    Understanding of Convolutional Neural Nets
•    Working knowledge of Word2Vec, NLTK, BERT
•    Discernment of when and how to use machine learning regulation


Pay Range:

Pay Range $71,500.00 - $110,000.00 - $148,500.00
