Leidos Military & Veterans Health Solutions Group is seeking a Junior Project Manager to support the management of the existing project portfolio, supporting the solution strategy of defense health, and the Department of Defense Healthcare Management System Modernization (DHMSM) Program, a highly visible $4.3B single award IDIQ vehicle that provides support to the Defense Health Agency.  The DHMSM program is the DoD’s leading program designed to deploy a modern electronic health record (EHR) system across the United States and around the globe. Leidos, with core partners Cerner, Accenture, and Henry Schein, will support the DHMS Program Executive Office (PEO) and the Defense Health Agency in the global deployment of a modernized EHR that will deliver improved system capability to the DoD whenever and wherever healthcare is required. The DHMSM system will provide important health IT capabilities to 9.5 million active military, their families, and their beneficiaries. The system will replace the current EHR AHLTA/CHCS, which Leidos built and currently provides sustainment services at locations around the world.

The Junior Project Manager will assist the senior management team in the execution of capability delivery projects as part of the DHMSM portfolio.  The Junior PM will be responsible for orchestration of various program functions to enable an executive view into portfolio status, utilizing information technology solutions, and to establish and maintain a repeatable review and intake process for new efforts. The Active project portfolio management scope includes the coordination of 50+ projects of varying size, many of which are of a technical nature (change to the existing system, introduction of a new capability, defect / problem resolution, and system upgrades).  Impact of the projects is over the entire SDLC, from requirements and design, configuration/building, testing, training, functional/workflow impacts, and preparation for deployment and sustainment.  Ongoing activities include rebalancing schedules and resources when plans change, collective status reporting, portfolio-level issues and risks (individual projects have their own project managers), and coordination with customer counterpart(s). New additions to the portfolio will need to run through the program intake process, which involves solution development, estimating, plan/schedule development, costing, and proposal submissions; and then overlaying the new request on top of the existing portfolio by virtue of priority, resource availability, and external dependencies; this work will be done by others, but the Junior PM will support and track request queue management and support assessment preparation tasks.  Once the solution and plan are known, the Junior PM will support the Project Portfolio Management function in schedule planning and resource planning activities for new efforts, taking into consideration the full breadth of the active portfolio projects already underway.

  • Bachelor's degree required with less than 2 years of relevant experience.    
  • US Citizenship required – must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust government security clearance, per contract requirements.
  • 1 year of project or program management support exposure.
  • Exposure to systems engineering and systems integration.
  • Exposure to Project management and client relationship management support
  • Passion about results and quality, with a strong sense of accountability and ownership.
  • Ability to analyze problems, work in ambiguous environment and assist in the development of recommendations and solutions.
  • Must have effective oral and written communication and presentation skills.
