Job Description:

The Government Assistant Secretary for Preparedness and Response (ASPR) - Strategic National Stockpile (SNS) Group currently has an opening for a Maintenance Technician to work in our Atlanta office. 

Primary Responsibilities

Be responsible for the development and management of all instrumentation and/or medical equipment maintenance and repair with emphasis on troubleshooting techniques and long range goal projection.

Responsible for technical support functions. Must analyze needs of supported agencies. Create and revise SOP’s and Desktop References to ensure continuous improvement in policies, plans, methods and systems designed to support agencies.

Participate in technical support work necessary to ensure the effective operation of ongoing support activities of Project. Wire and ensure asset containers for remote monitoring devices (e.g., Sensaphones and sensors).

Perform computer and web based monitoring of systems to ensure program stability and reliability of remote monitoring devices (i.e., Sensaphones, sensors, supporting hardware and services). Assist in the fielding and installation of asset containers.

Test systems to localize and diagnose causes of malfunctions. Be on call to respond to remote monitoring alerts 24/7/365 Nationwide.

Report all Project activities to SNS superiors. Coordinate with locations to validate proper communication channels met requirement. E.g. POTS Line.

Manage and coordinate agency maintenance projects. Perform system upgrades, equipment calibrations, and performance maintenance on BIO-MED and remote monitoring equipment/capabilities.

Perform on-going QA/QC, calibration checks, reports, and inventory. Create, manage and maintain equipment maintenance databases and Spreadsheets. Create, audit, and file technical reports detailing site visits or related services.

Resolve, document, and report all known hardware and software troubleshooting issues with equipment.

Validate proposed location area to ensure requirements are met for product potency.

Will participate as SME (subject matter expert) in workgroups for replacement of customer systems. 

Provide analysis and pilot testing on future software upgrades.

Perform and submit research analysis for projects on time, with agreed upon scope, within budget and of the highest quality, while managing escalation and issue resolution. Examples: Develop requirements, initiate project plan, and execute with the customer acceptance of the project results (provides daily and weekly project updates to the customer).  Deliverables examples: Identify requirements, Analysis/Selection, Quote, Procurement (if needed), Test, Technical Writing, etc.

Basic Qualifications

Bachelors with less 2 years

Preferred Qualifications

Have knowledge of Medical Ventilators and other BIO-MED Equipment and related ancillaries.

Knowledge in hardware and software troubleshooting

Knowledge in Microsoft Office suites
