Job Summary
Program Director for the Defense Group is responsible for the implementation and compliance of Leidos Policy LP-PE-1 which includes oversight of Defense programs through regular reviews and deep dives, regular involvement in Defense proposals through participation and leadership in technical readiness reviews (TRRs), execution planning reviews (XPRs), bid risk reviews (BRRs), and bid approval reviews (BARs).  Defense Groups includes both service and delivery programs, production programs, and programs with emerging technologies.  Program Director must maintain an understanding of major programs, risks, and technologies in order to provide regular support, oversight and guidance to PMs. Preferred location: Reston, VA.

Primary Responsibilities
Ensuring the effective and efficient execution of Defense Group programs from bid and risk identification through start-up and implementation. 
Understanding of the primary programs within Defense.  Chair of IPRs, TRRs, XPRs, BRRs.  Deep dives into troubled programs and supports the collaborative development of corrective action planning.  Creation of Corporate Watch List for any Defense programs on Corporate Watch List.  Program Director is responsible for the implementation and compliance of Leidos Policy LP-PE-1 which includes oversight of programs through regular reviews and deep dives, regular involvement in proposals through participation and leadership in technical readiness reviews (TRRs), execution planning reviews (XPRs), bid risk reviews (BRRs), and bid approval reviews as well as proposal content review and generation. 

Additional duties include:
•Implementing tailored and streamlined versions of policy and processes to best meet Defense business environment and risk.
•Mentoring and training of program managers.   Training may include one-on-one mentoring or sessions in the form of Lunch and Learn sessions as well as the generation and delivery of training material for new PMs
•Approving, MRs, IPRs and BARs as annotated in the Defense ATO 
•Being a liaison and expediter for PMs and functional support including, but not limited to Procurement, Contracts, Business Development, Accounts Payable and Finance.  Supporting the development of opportunity capture strategy by participation in large and critical Defense capture activities such as Collaboration Sessions, price to win, OIRs and other reviews and meetings. 

Basic Qualifications
Must have a Bachelor’s degree and 15 years of relevant experience in program and or finance management.

Must be eligible for a DoD TS clearance. 

Must have a deep understanding of Leidos business systems and processes.

Preferred Qualifications
•DoD TS or higher clearance
•Experience as a Program Manager of a development/delivery program
•Experience in and/or basic understanding of EVM
•Experience with complex software development programs
•Understanding of large Enterprise IT programs including help desk best practices
•Working experience with R&D programs supporting US Government as well as experience in bidding Other Transactional Authority (OTA) instruments.
