Leidos is hiring a Database Administrator, Mid - active TS/SCI required in Suitland, MD. All work is onsite; an active TS/SCI is required to be considered for this role.
Candidate will routinely work independently to achieve critical mission objectives necessary to continue smooth operations for Hopper, and other internal and external agencies. Routinely will collaborate with different internal and external customers and other experts to develop technical solutions to problems that are complex and not always immediately identifiable in order to timely meet mission objectives
-Analysis and evaluation of computer networks with primary knowledge requirements of information processing methodology, information technology, computer capabilities, and processing techniques
-Responsible for maintaining daily operation and problem resolution of server/systems, operating systems, and application maintenance tasks on the database servers for proactive monitoring such as space usage, deleting log files, dump files, error correcting
-Develop, document and recommend new database management policies, procedures and standards
-Create, document and implement repeatable processes to install, test, upgrade, maintain and patch database environments and its software
-Create, document and implement repeatable processes to proactively monitor database performance and overall utilization
-Troubleshoot and resolve database-related incidents detected during database monitoring or reported by users
-Troubleshoot database connectivity and back up issues
-Analyze requirements, document and implement Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM) / GRID Control to monitor all database activity
-Manage, migrate and debug application software, as it applies to the Oracle Database
-Conduct random health checks on the databases and prepare performance reports
-Work across IT functional boundaries (I.E. Other System, administrators, SAN administrators, Network administrators, Database administrators)
GSEC or Security + (CE) or SSCP certification
Active TS/SCI clearance
BS Degree in IT field
7+ yrs of experience in Oracle database administration
Expert knowledge with Oracle 11GR2 or higher database
Working knowledge of Solaris and/or RHEL
Hands on experience with private or public Cloud technology
Experience with cloud infrastructure and tools (AWS, Ansible, Chef, Puppet, etc.)
