Job Description:

The Defense Group of Leidos has an opportunity for an experienced Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) Engineer to support the NATO ITB Build 6 modernization efforts. The ILS Engineer will work amongst a multi-national integrated product team to create and help execute plans for the ILS of the NATO ITB Build Open Framework Service (OFS) software components for ITB Build 6 and provide subject matter expertise in areas such as software transition, operations, and sustainment.

Primary Responsibilities

The ILS Engineer is accountable for overseeing the seamless receipt, installation and configuration of ITB Build 6 OFS software in the ITB Lab to support integration testing and remediation activities within the ITB Lab. Once the ITB Build 6 OFS is formally acceptance by the customer, the ILS Engineer will serve as the primary point of contact between the customer and the Leidos Team for all warranty claims.

  • Establish and maintain ILS-related plans, including:

    • Integrated Logistics Support Plan (ILSP)

    • System Transition Plan (STP)

    • In-Service Support Plan (ISSP)

    • Release & Deployment Plan (RDP)

    • Site Installation Procedures, informed from detailed inputs from the software providers

    • Roll-back / Contingency Plan

    • Software Version Description, which is a consolidation of inputs from software providers

    • System Support Manual

    • System Maintenance Manual

    • System User Manual, which is a consolidation of inputs from software providers

    • Quick User Guide, which is a consolidation of inputs from software providers

    • System Administrator Manual, which is a consolidation of inputs from software providers

    • Monthly Maintenance Review Report

  • Enforce adherence to established ILS plans and procedures, escalating issues to the Program Manager as needed.

  • Coordinate with team members to ensure their inputs to plans and manuals are provided in a timely manner and align with delivery expectations.

  • Manage procurement and tracking of COTS software licenses necessary for ITB Build 6 OFS components.

  • Coordinate with local Field Engineer to isolate anamolies discovered in ITB Build 6 OFS components, as expressed by the customer, and escalate resolution to software vendors as appropriate.

  • Coordinate with local Field Engineer on receipt, installation, and regression testing of software updates provided by software vendors.

  • Provide configuration management support to ensure proper accounting of software components and versions that form the ITB Build 6 baseline.

  • Provide configuration control for contractual documents delivered throughout the period of performance.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Management, or relevant field.

  • Over eight (8) years of professional experience working on or with software development teams, including installing software and troubleshooting software issues.

  • Experience with supporting the maintenance and sustainment phases of the software development lifecycle.

  • Extremely organized to ensure that all software warranty claims or issues expressed by the customer are documented in our ticket tracking system, responded to quickly, and status is tracked throughout the remediation process.

  • Excellent problem solving and analysis skills, including the ability to logically create structure and order from unstructured inputs.

  • Self-starter that is able to work independently while possessing the communication skills to work collaboratively with software development teams, international teammates, and customers.

  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.

  • Must be a U.S. citizen.

  • Ability to obtain U.S. DoD Secret security clearance.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience implementing ITIL, or similar, best practices for Service Transition and Service Operation.

  • Proficiency with Jira, Confluence and SharePoint.
