Job Description:
Technical/Operational
Collation of all technical and cost aspects of a bid working closely with the assigned bid lead.
Monitor the Estimating department’s processes and discuss improvements where required, and implement improvements agreed with the leadership team.
Lead knowledge transfer of the estimating process to other members of the team
Assist and advise other members of the estimating team on solutions, stakeholder reviews, customer and supplier interaction.
To generate best in class robust estimates for mechanical applications in material handling, robotics, logistics, general manufacturing and automation.
Working with our sales teams and bid team to present a proposal technically and financially during internal reviews.
Lead and/or support cost research / analysis.
Risk identification and mitigation.
Time Management
Collate technical enquiries & internal presentation material promptly, professionally and effectively.
To manage and prioritise workload as required applying a measured approach according to urgency/importance.
Communication
Effectively present financial documentation to all other departments in line with requirements, & handle questions & feedback constructively & professionally.
Support the sales processes in financial presentations, meetings and other gatherings both internally and externally as required.
Team Working
Work as part of the technical sales team & adapt as required to ensure workload is prioritised.
Cross Functional Working
Achieve buy in to proposed costs by all stakeholders both internal and external.
Contribute to the overall business as required whether, or not the task is directly related to job role.
Health & Safety
Follow Group and Company policies and procedures at all times.
Use all Company equipment and personal PPE properly and in accordance with Company procedures.

Flexibility
Based in Pune, India working remotely as required.
Visiting clients in the UK and abroad as required during none- production hours and weekends as necessary.

Skills & Attributes
Highly Organised & self-motivated
Excellent interpersonal skills
Sound understanding of MS Office packages
Foundation AutoCAD (For reviewing layouts/Drawings) or similar packages
Team player
Good technical literacy skills
Adaptable & flexible
Experience
Proven experience in Mechanical Engineering
Proven experience in a Mechanical application environment.
Manufacturing Automation methods and processes
Value for money and current market value
Supplier base knowledge
Understanding of project costs - design, management, manufacture, installation etc
Experience in the Materials Handling
Industry Automation controls techniques experience would be a benefit
Qualifications
Time served apprenticeship or equivalent experience
HNC in Mechanical or equivalent experience
Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience
