Job Description:

Leidos is seeking a Software Factory - Associate DevOps Engineer in Morgantown, WV.

Are you great at automation? Do you like to build things in the cloud (or want to)?  Then come put your DevOps engineering skills to work for us! The Leidos Defense Group has openings for talented DevOps Engineers to come work in our state-of-the-art Software Factory in Morgantown, WV. The responsibilities for this position include building, innovating upon, and supporting the reusable development platform and tools used by multiple development teams and our customers. You will have the opportunity to design and build Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery pipelines that accelerate the secure delivery of software to production. You will automate the buildout of infrastructure in the cloud, and learn to deploy and operate Kubernetes clusters and microservices deployments. In this role, you will join a dynamic team that is singularly focused on providing world class solutions to our customers in an exciting, collaborative, and inclusive environment. You will be challenged and provided a tremendous opportunity for growth in a customer-facing, fast-paced, and fun environment.

•Design, develop, troubleshoot, and build mission critical infrastructure (as code!) that is repeatably deployed and updated via automation – Kubernetes clusters, VMs, development pipelines, deployments, etc.
•Use Agile development tools such as GitLab, Jira, Confluence, and Bitbucket/Git to manage work and collaborate with your teams.
•Support creation and updating of all relevant documentation and specifications for design, development and testing.
•Identify potential roadblocks and develop around them.
•Plan and estimate development tasks and work to improve performance metrics.
•Develop maintainable code that matches specification.
•Develop automated tests leveraging a continuous integration process.
•Own delivery of small parts of a system or application.
•Work closely with other engineers to develop the best technical design and approach for new product development.
•Build software solutions

•Recent Bachelor's degree in Computer Science with relevant internship experience or less than 2 years of experience in a relevant field with a minimum 3.0 GPA.
•Experience with programming languages and scripting
•Solid understanding of system administration and software development process fundamentals.
•Strong, self-motivated desire to learn new programming languages, tools, frameworks, and techniques.
•Ability to complete tasking independently with minimal direct supervision.
•Ability to work and collaborate effectively within a multi-disciplined engineering team
•Team player whom can express and explain their ideas to others
•Must be able to obtain a DoD Secret Security Clearance.
•U.S. Citizenship is required.

•Familiarity with Cloud Technologies (AWS, Azure, GCP)
•Knowledge of a version control system (Git)
•Familiarity with CI/CD processes and tools (GitLab, Argo, Jenkins, etc.)
•Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation, Helm, etc.)
•Familiarity with containerized applications and container orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes, Rancher, OpenShift, etc.)
•Familiarity with Enterprise Service Bus Technologies (Kafka)
•Knowledge of Agile Development methodologies
•Familiarity with multiple operating systems and system administration (Mac OSX, Windows, LINUX, etc.)
•Familiarity with at least one Relational Database Management System (Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL, SQL Server, etc.)
•Familiarity with NoSql databases (MongoDB, etc.)
