Job Description:
Leidos is seeking a Data Center Manager to support a large enterprise IT contract for the DOD. The Data Center Manager will support data center operations. The Manager will provide installation, maintenance, and decommission support for all equipment within the data center to include; rack, stack and cable new servers, inventory new and existing assets, conduct power distribution assessments, assist remote administrators with resolving incidents impacting physical servers, ensure power delivery is optimal, and in the event of a power failure, that backup systems properly engaged, and decommission server in accordance with customers policies and procedures. Additionally, they may be required to assist with implementation and support of hybrid-cloud infrastructure to support the customer’s evolving requirements. This individual will work in a team environment to ensure mission needs are met and ensure functionality of capabilities of customers.
Primary Responsibilities:
Be able to work with and employ rack level, redundancy levels and techniques, rack standards, properties and selection criteria, and power rail/strip options, cold aisle/hot aisle containment, and standards for fire suppression, security and safety.
Provide support for implementation, troubleshooting, maintenance, and decommission of physical equipment. Rapidly distinguish between isolated server problems, network outages, and power/cooling issues that impact enterprise services.
Coordinate with customers and stakeholders to collect data, conduct analysis, develop, and implement solutions associated with incident tickets and requirements.
Develop solutions to complex technical issues.
Provide follow-up reports (technical findings, feedback, resolution steps taken) for root cause analysis, engineering technical assessment and process improvement initiatives.
Support customer requirements in a 24/7/365 environment.
Support additional data centers in the local area on an as needed, customer requested basis
Update operations and maintenance documentation for 24/7/365 IT watch personnel.
Mentor junior team members and may supervise others.
Basic Qualifications:
Experience with interacting with customers to handle service inquiries and problems.
Experience working in a data center environment.
Knowledge of data center standards and best practices.
Knowledge of power infrastructure layout from generation to rack level, redundancy levels and techniques, rack standards, properties and selection criteria, and power rail/strip options, cold aisle/hot aisle containment, and standards for fire suppression, security and safety.
Experience with Tier 2 system administration.
Experience troubleshooting issues in a growing environment.
Time management skills.
Strong oral and written communications skills.
Track record of working effectively within a team, and support to peers toward improved processes and results.
Experience monitoring environmental sensors and determining issues prior to impact to systems
Experience with support ticket management systems such as Service Now.
Experience mentoring and/or supervising others.
DoD 8570.11- IAT Level II certification (Security+ CE, CCNA-Security, GSEC) or higher level IAT Certification.
Education:
Candidate must have a Bachelor's degree with 8 years of relevant experience, Master’s degree with 6 years, Associate's with 12 years, or High School Diploma with 14 years.
**Must be willing to travel within the local area, and up to 10% travel to remote site data centers to support major installation or upgrade projects.
**Due to the nature of the government contracts we support, US Citizenship is required.
**TS/SCI with Polygraph is required for this position or TS/SCI and willingness to obtain a polygraph prior to start.
