The Leidos Defense Group is seeking a Warehouse Specialist to join our team at our Pascagoula, MS office in supporting the Integrated Logistics Center program which provides logistics, and engineering services to help ensure secure, reliable, and uninterrupted availability of parts and material for the US Navy’s AN/SQQ-89 Sonar system. This position is working as a member of the National Security Cutter (NSC) Test Team in Pascagoula, MS. This is working with dynamic schedules and coordinating with other members of the test team and ship’s force. This position will encompass all stages of production and post sail away support.

Responsibilities – Work you’ll do:

  • Maintaining a correct inventory of material within the Warehouse Management System.

  • Receiving, identifying material and record keeping functions associated with the receipt of materials.

  • Shipping, packing and record keeping functions associated with the shipment of materials both commercially and in accordance with US Navy supply system.

  • Prepare/Monitor Material and Shipment Requests.

  • Expedite material/requisitions.

  • Manage Open Requisitions.

  • Load, unload, and move to stowage, freight and piece parts, both manually or with equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks.

  • Breakdown of major equipment to smaller units via the use of hand tools or power tools as required.

  • Coordinate and monitor incoming shipments pertaining to SEL items.

  • Support and research material requests from on-site technicians.

  • Write weekly activity reports.

  • Generally assist the Lead System Engineer (LSE) and test engineers in the overall T&E program.

  • Support the coordination of engineering, material and services to complete corrective maintenance.

  • Spot-brief the status of incoming SEL material items, to include all sub-contractor furnished items.

  • Support On-Call during non-core hours as required.

  • Ability to independently research, assess and present analyses of technical/logistics data and recommended options for government decision. 

  • Document failures and anomalies via Trouble Failure Reports (TFRs).

  • Attend meetings as required to present status of SEIT open items, TFRs, and material status. 

Required Experience, Skills, and Education:

  • High School diploma or equivalent and 1 year of experience.

  • Understanding of US Navy supply system and practices.

  • Working knowledge of computers, printers, laptops, and common Windows applications.

  • Working knowledge of common hand tools and power tools.

  • Ability to manually lift packages up to 50 lbs.

  • Ability to work 8 hour shifts in support of 24/7 operations.

  • Proficiency in MS Office products including Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint.

  • Must be able to work in an industrial environment.

  • Must be able to work in a team environment.

Preferred Experience, Skills, and Education – Favorable if you have:

  • Forklift operator.

  • Knowledge HAZMAT shipping/storage.

  • Past experience as a US Navy Sonar Technician (STG) or Logistics Specialist (LS).

  • Experience working in a shipyard environment.

Clearance Required:

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance.

Pay Range:

COVID Response
