The Homeland Security Solutions Operation within the Intelligence Group at Leidos currently has an opening for a Deputy Security Operations Center (SOC) Manager to work in Ashburn, Virginia. The Deputy SOC Manager will lead a talented team in providing Enterprise Security Operations Center and Security Engineering Services to the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) with SOC operations. Leidos is looking for a Deputy SOC Manager that will support the Deputy Program Manager (DPM) with planning, coordinating, and managing the actions taken by the organization to initiate and execute a Government contract. When the DPM is not available, the Deputy SOC Manager will serve as the Leidos single point-of-contact with SOC customer on technical matters and issues. We are looking for a team-oriented leader focused on delivering and supporting the strategic goals of DHS. The Deputy SOC Manager must support and provide the leadership and have the interpersonal communication skills necessary to inspire, lead, direct and manage a complex and high paced operational environment. The Deputy SOC Manager will interface with senior DHS leaders and directors to help maintain and sustain critical systems supporting the Enterprise Security Operations Center.
Lead and manage a 24x7x365 Security Operations Center providing technical leadership and oversight
Identifies, assesses and resolves complex technical problems/issue/risks and facilitates issue resolution and risk mitigation
Ensure incident identification, assessment, quantification, reporting, communication, mitigation and monitoring
Ensure compliance to Key Performance Indicators (KPI), process adherence and improvements
Revise and develop processes to strengthen the current operational activities; review policies and recommend changes to improve governance
Creation of reports, dashboards, metrics for SOC operations and presentation to client
Responsible for team management, personnel scheduling, overall use of resources and initiation of corrective action where required for Security Operations Center
Ensure that all work on this contract complies with the contract terms and conditions and is approved/coordinated with senior managers
Co-ordinate with stakeholders to build and maintain positive working relationship; this include subordinate SOCs supporting the organization
Must be able to obtain a Department of Homeland Security Entry on Duty (EOD)
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related Engineering field
3 years SOC experience in IT service delivery or cybersecurity services or 1 year and Master’s Degree
8 years SOC experience in IT service delivery or cybersecurity services.

Experience organizing, directing, and managing contract operation support functions involving multiple, complex, and interrelated project tasks
Experience effectively communicating at senior levels within a customer organization
Experience meeting with customer and contractor personnel to formulate and review task plans and deliverable items, and effectively execute in accordance with approved plans
Ability to collaborate with technical staff and customers in forming strategies to improve performance, reliability, and cost effectiveness
Experience mentoring staff in order to maintain high levels of performance and positive morale
Master's Degree in Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field
Experience developing a strategic vision for a complex organization, balancing modernization needs with critical daily operations and maintenance requirements
