Job Description:

Leidos is looking for a Software Engineering Manager that can oversee the development and delivery of customer mission critical software applications used to remotely operate and maintain equipment deployed to secure our nation’s borders.

Applicants should be a seasoned software manager/developer with at least 12 years’ experience delivering high quality and secure web-based/containerized applications applying Agile methodologies and SecDevOps principles.

Applicants should have good leadership and communication skills in order to effectively lead a team of approximately 25 developers organized into 2-3 Agile development teams.

Applicants must be innovative and self-motivated to research new technologies and find and evaluate innovative solutions that address customer unique mission needs and solve unanticipated problems. 

Applicants should be good stakeholder managers and prepared to work with the customer to identify and manage requirements, coordinate demonstrations, and report and provide transparency to project status.

Responsibilities:
•Manage and retain staff with the software skills needed to support the engineering, operation, and maintenance of border security systems/applications
•Monitor and report team and software performance metrics to identify improvement opportunities and drive efficiencies.
•Work with customer stakeholders to understand and capture user requirements
•Coordinate with Scrum Team Product Owners/Scrum Masters and be a servant-leader to resolve issues and remove project obstacles
•Coordinate demonstrations with system/application stakeholders
•Document lessons learned
•Ensure quality of applications delivered and that applications are fit for use and purpose.
•Coordinate with external organizations e.g., to obtain necessary infrastructure services necessary to deliver software capabilities to end users and to obtain ATO
•Establish an efficient CI/CD pipeline to support the continuous delivery of software enhancements and fixes.

Experience managing software project that leverage the following technologies desirable:
•.NET/ASP.NET

Education/Experience:  Candidates must have a Bachelors degree and 12 – 15 years of prior relevant experience or Masters degree with 10 – 13 years of prior relevant experience.
