Job Description:

Leidos has an opening for a software integration engineer to join our team. This is an exciting and long term role located at Eglin AFB, FL.

The Individual will be a Software Integration Engineer for the SEIC Contract in support of the Air Force Mission Planning Program Office and will be responsible for the following:

  • Integration testing of various Mission Planning software products from multiple developer teams
  • Creation and test of Windows Restore Images in support of mission planning products
  • Creation of Virtual Machine (VM) environments for internal SEIC test activities and also for cloud based (remote user) test activities
  • Assist in the development of a ‘JMPS VM Farm’ and management of the VM Farm in preparation for and execution of test events
  • Direct interface with Gov’t customers in reference to integration tasking and status
  • Develop, test and distribute JMPS Mission Planning Baseline products.
  • The successful candidate will be energetic, eager to learn and comfortable working in a peer-to-peer environment. A background in military aviation/mission planning is preferable but not required.  This position demands a high level of attention to detail, highly disciplined organizational skills, a deep sense of problem-solving skills and perseverance in troubleshooting and solution verification.  The candidate must have the capacity to reach out to a wide variety of resources for technical support and the ability to clearly communicate findings at varying technical levels
  • The candidate must be adept at handling classified materials and be proficient in working across all classification tiers, distribution levels, and releasability requirements. Creation of classified products requires knowledge of encrypting data at rest, passphrase documentation, large file media creation, file verification, file hashing, secure internet protocol (SIPR) procedures, secure file tranfer, and chain of custody/purging requirements.

Basic Qualifications

  • Candidate must have US Citizenship
  • Candidate must be able to obtain a DoD secret Clearance
  • Candidate must have BS degree in computer science or equivalent field of study and 8+ years of prior relevant experience or Masters with 6+ years of prior relevant experience. 
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite 2016/365 – Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Access, One Note, Notepad, Text Editor (Notepad++/Beyond Compare),
  • Strong Knowledge of virtualization Software (VMWare, Hyper-V, V-Box) and virtualized server network.
  • Disc Mastering Software (ImgBurn, Roxio)
  • Scripting experience with (.bat, .cmd, .psh)
  • Encryption & Hashing (Encryption Tools and hashing algorithm software)
  • Compression software (WinRAR, WinZip, 7-Z)
  • Windows/Application Logs
  • Understanding of Windows Installation concepts to include silent install, Windows Command Prompt, PowerShell, Hard Drive Formatting, Hard Drive Imaging, Windows Drivers/Driver Updates

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with mission planning software
  • Experience in software test methodologies at Graphical User Interface (GUI) level
  • Graphics Editing (Snip/Sketch or similar)
  • Video Teleconferencing (MS Teams, Zoom, Skype)
  • Collaboration Tools (Atlassian Tool Suite of Confluence, JIRA, JIRA Align)
  • Database Editing & Research (MS Access, SQL Server)
  • Microsoft Windows Versions (Win 10, soon Win 11, Windows Server)
  • Adobe Acrobat/PDF manipulation

Covid Guidance
