Job Description:

The Leidos Intelligence Group currently has an opening for a Security Specialist to work in our Chantilly, VA facility – which serves as a central hub and conference center to multiple programs and customer agencies across of Leidos.  The incumbent will serve as a member of the Security Team and will assist in the coordination of events (e.g., client meetings, social functions, recruiting events, presentations, etc.), enabling Leidos to meet its client services objectives and build strong, meaningful relationships with its customers to anticipate and meet all current and future needs.

We are looking for candidates who enjoy working at the enterprise-wide level, who are proactive and innovative in thought and consider themselves to be customer service oriented.  The incumbent should be able to perform a variety of security-related tasks and manage complex, often disparate, decentralized systems and processes. The Security Specialist will support at the enterprise-wide level administering and ensuring compliance with company security policies and managing the security clearances of those within the Intelligence Group.  The incumbent must possess a broad knowledge of both the National Industrial Security Program rules, regulations, and procedures, as well the more nuanced Intelligence Community-centric processes and requirements.  The incumbent will interface with both the programs and the agencies we serve in the Intelligence Community, as well as Defense Counterintelligence and Security Agency (DCSA), on security clearance matters, rulings, and interpretations of the National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual (NISPOM) and execution of all assigned classified contracts. This position reports to the on-site Senior Security official/Facility Security Officer and will provide indirect support to Intel Leadership to help centralize and streamline processes for visibility and efficiencies within the Intelligence Group. 

Primary Responsibilities

Review, coordinate and publish (amend as needed) security program governance documentation (e.g. policies, procedures, and Standard Practice Procedures (SPP) manuals).

Support leadership by tracking and coordinating clearance sponsorships across Intel Group, work with Corporate Security on behalf of Intel Group (as needed), and serve as a conduit to industry associations, as needed.

Support the FSO with the maintenance of Facility Clearance Levels (FCL) documentation in the National Industrial Security System (NISS).

Process outgoing visit authorizations for personnel assigned to contracts that require cleared access.

Validate the personnel security clearance of new personnel.  If required, initiate action for the proper investigation to be conducted.

Define, update, maintain and produce reports from appropriate clearance repositories, including Defense Information Security System (DISS) database, Scattered Castles, and Leidos internal systems.

Administer and track Security Education/Training to cleared personnel.

Administer security education and awareness program to indoctrinate and advise new personnel of the adverse effects to national security that could result from unauthorized disclosure, and of their personal, moral, and legal responsibility to protect classified information within their knowledge, possession or control. 

Conduct briefing/debriefing of individuals requiring access as required.  

Maintain an ongoing security education program (e.g. design updates to annual online training, publish security awareness notices, participate in Security Awareness venues, etc.)

Administers processes to obtain and maintain Facility Clearance Levels (FCL) and Personnel Clearance Levels (PCL); performs maintenance of appropriate and accurate security folders.

Participates in security self-assessments, internal peer reviews and DCSA Vulnerability Assessments.

Develop and maintain resources to provide concierge-level services for clients and internal personnel, such as transportation information, restaurant recommendation, parking, catering, and routine travel assistance.

Basic Qualifications

Must be able to obtain a TS/SCI clearance.

Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent and minimum 4-8 years of overall experience.

Strong working knowledge of National Industrial Security Operating Manual (NISPOM) and Intelligence Community-centric processes.

Working knowledge of SF-86/eQIP, SF-312, DD-254, and other required forms.

Experience staffing packages, working in Excel, drafting PowerPoint slides.
