Job Description:

The Homeland Security Solutions Operation within the Intelligence Group at Leidos currently has an opening for a Cloud Software Developer (CSD) to support the DHS Services, Technology, Engineering and Management (STEAM) program.  The CSD will join a talented technical team in supporting the Department of Homeland Security (DHS).

The CSD will design, engineer, architect, integrate, optimize, configure, test, deploy, sustain, and support DHS applications, services, and data sets operating in multiple cloud environments.  The CSD will providing the technical expertise needed to accomplish those tasks, as well as provides expert guidance and direction to Government and contractor technicians and managers.  CSD candidates should be highly skilled and able to support and lead complex engineering tasks. Candidates may work individually or as a key member of a technical team.

We are looking for a team-oriented, broad thinker that is focused on delivering and supporting the goals of DHS.  The CSD must both provide technical expertise and have the interpersonal communication skills necessary to quickly assess, impact, and explain matters with a high degree of technical complexity.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Performing cloud systems engineering functions, to include the design, engineering, architecture, integration, optimization, configuration, testing, deployment, sustainment, and support of DHS applications, services, and data sets operating in multiple cloud environments. 
  • Provide the technical expertise needed to accomplish those tasks, as well as provides expert guidance and direction to Government and contractor technicians and managers.
  • Stay informed about developments in Data Science and adjacent fields to ensure that outputs are always relevant.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical subject or related field (for example, computer science, mathematics) and 8 – 12 years of prior relevant experience. Additional experience will be considered in lieu of degree.
  • Recent experience in cloud technologies and platforms applying analytical, diagnostic, and qualified techniques to the mission requirements.
  • Demonstrated performance conducting independent analysis and presenting results to customer/stakeholder leadership in either written and/or oral form.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
