Job Description:

The  Strategic National Stockpile (SNS) Group at Leidos currently has an opening for a Project Management Specialist in Atlanta, GA. 

This is an exciting opportunity to provide logistics and administrative project management support to assist in operating and maintaining the SNS national stockpiled inventory. In this mission we assist in ensuring the SNS inventory is ready for deployment, providing the ability to respond 24 x 7 in an emergency.

The successful candidate will provide project management support and facilitation support in managing different projects in order for the DSNS to maintain a high level of readiness. 

Primary Responsibilities

  • Responsible for planning and facilitating projects in support of DSNS branch.

  • Leads project teams of various size and scope and guides projects through to completion.

  • Works directly with project sponsors and stakeholders to ensure deliverables are maintained within the identified scope, timeline and budget.

  • Creates long- and short-term plans, including setting targets for milestones and adhering to deadlines; ensuring projects are completed within scope and specified timelines.

  • Delegates project tasks to team members that are best positioned to complete them

  • Presents viable options to stakeholders and team members when presented with multiple alternatives for how to advance with the project

  • Serves as the primary point of contact for the project team when multiple stakeholders are assigned to the same project to ensure team actions remain synchronized

  • Performs quality control on the project throughout development to maintain expected standards

  • Prudently adjusts schedules and targets on the project as needs for the project change

  • Prepares routine status reports and presentations for branch and division senior management regarding project status and executive level updates, presentations and visualizations.

  • Ability to think creatively, work with minimal supervision and have the latitude to set individual and project parameters is expected

Basic Qualifications

  • Proven work experience in project management

  • Excellent facilitation skills

  • Excellent group management skills

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Excellent organizational skills including attention to detail and multitasking skills

  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office

  • Above average skills with project management software tools such as Microsoft Office or comparable

Required to be on-call 24 hour/7 days a week. Must be able to respond to mission alerts within 15 minutes with a recall of 90 minutes to report to designated location. Must carry a cell phone at all times.

Preferred Qualifications

Previous experience supporting a government agency.

Project Management Professional (PMP) certification  (preferred) or comparable verified project management experience
