The Security Detection & Automation Operation (SD&A) of the Civil Group has an opportunity for a Division Manager, Ports and Borders division. This role will report directly to the SD&A Operations Manager.
Driven by our talented workforce, the SD&A Operation is the cornerstone of Leidos’ comprehensive suite of fully integrated security detection and automation solutions for aviation, ports and borders, and critical infrastructure customers around the world, with more than 24,000 products deployed across 120 countries. Leidos is positioned to address emerging and evolving threats through rapid development of innovative solutions for our global customers. Leidos’ SDA Operation, in conjunction with the TSA, also performs on-call, onsite installation servicing of X- Ray Detection Equipment using leading edge technology to ensure the safety of our clients, customer and passengers.
Position Description:
We seek a proven leader to lead and grow a $100M+ organization responsible for the development, manufacturing, sale and implementation of global security screening products and related services. The selected candidate will chart and execute the long-term growth strategy for these and future security products driving Leidos to leading positions across selected target markets. The Division Manager is a thought leader, relied upon for innovative approaches, and solutions to address ever-evolving threats and needs within the global security market. Successful candidates would need to thrive in a fast-paced environment driven by strong growth potential within a highly competitive market. Must be a self-starting high-energy leader focused upon delivering results. Significant customer facing engagement is expected in order to shape and position to win new business.
The DM will be responsible for directing and growing division commitments for all customer, employee, program, financial and new business short and long range strategies.
This leadership role will proactively build and leverage relationships with other division managers, Operation staff and functional support and be expected to collaborate across the company and exhibit teamwork to contribute to division, group, sector, and enterprise success. Engages in strategic thinking by understanding “big picture” analysis both from the technological and business perspectives for new and existing market initiatives both domestically and internationally.
The DM is expected to establish and manage customer and business partner industry relationships while creating new capabilities and increasing market share in existing and new markets. The VP/DM must demonstrate highly ethical performance and behavior that is conducive to professional growth, employee engagement, and continuous staff development.
The DM will be a key leader to grow Leidos’ Security Detection and Automation portfolio and will establish objectives, plans and budgets; manage the operational, financial and technical performance of the division; maintain a performance-oriented organization; work with Operation staff to develop, capture, and win profitable business opportunities.
The work location for this position is in Vista, California.
Travel to meet with clients or other Leidos organizations is expected, as needed, approximately 30% of the time.
Basic Qualifications:
- BS Degree and 15 years of relevant prior experience
- Strong history of growing a complex, multi-customer business in excess of $100M/year.
- Multi-disciplinary business background (may include Business Development, Sales, Marketing, P&L, Service Delivery, Finance, and Technical / Product Production.)
- Experience in business strategy development, planning, and execution
Preferred Qualifications:
- 10+ years experience in and knowledge of the security product screening industry
- 10+ years experience in international product management and sales
- Multi-lingual (e.g., Spanish) is a plus
