Leidos Military & Veterans Health Solutions Group is seeking a Research Associate to support our operations at the Naval Nuclear Power Training Command (NNPTC) in Goose Creek, SC. The Naval Submarine Medical Research Laboratory (NSMRL) supports NNPTC through research and investigation of the effects of medical, psychological, and performance issues associated with the health and performance of naval personnel in operational and non-operational settings. The Research Associate will be responsible for assisting in developing, setting up and monitoring of psychological and physiological testing for a variety of projects in the fields of human performance, decision-making, and display development.
The ideal candidate shall:
Provide planning support for various research efforts.
Conduct literature searches and draft literature reviews and bibliographies for the development of research proposals.
Support the execution of research protocols.
Perform elementary statistical analysis and evaluation of data.
Perform psychoeducational assessments, including cognitive, behavioral, and social/emotional instruments.
Participate in the drafting and editing of technical reports, manuscripts, and presentations detailing results and the appropriate inferences to be drawn from results.
Schedule, coordinate, and plan meetings and conferences for on-site, off-site, and telecommunication.
Support the development of new initiatives in the area of Submarine Medicine as required.
Work is to be primarily performed on a government installation. The normal work week is Monday through Friday 0800 to 1630.
Some offsite travel (~10%) may be required for data collection efforts, presentations, etc.
Candidates must have completed a Master's degree in psychology, behavioral analysis or equivalent discipline.
Candidates must have demonstrated experience of at least 2 years conducting psychological or behavioral assessments.
Candidates must demonstrate the ability to interact and effectively communicate both written and orally with a wide variety of people.
Familiarity with HIPAA, PHI/PII compliance, etc.
Ability to work independently with little to no direct supervision.
Due to Federal contracting requirements, candidates must be US Citizens.
The candidate will be required to acquire, at a minimum, a SECRET classification access level. Preference will be given to a candidate who already has this clearance level.
Board Certification as a Behavioral Analyst is highly desired.
Given the embedded nature of the position, prior military service in the Navy is highly desired.
Computer literacy, Microsoft Office proficiency and working knowledge of statistical software preferred.
Skills should include a foundational and theoretical understanding of general scientific principles.
Experience in a human subject research setting and experience in the US federal government system is highly desired.
