1901 Group (A Leidos Company) has an exciting Cloud Network Engineer position located in the Blacksburg, VA area.
 
POSITION SUMMARY:
We are searching for a Cloud Network Engineer to join our growing cloud engineering team to support the design, automation, and deployment of cloud infrastructure and applications.


PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: 
•    Develop and implement cloud-first and AWS native architectures
•    Be a key member of a high performing Agile scrum team. Attend Agile meetings (sprint planning, daily standups, sprint retrospectives, sprint reviews, etc.)
•    Work with teams across 1901 Group and customers to understand cloud networking requirements for upcoming projects
•    Design and implement automation through scripting and other techniques to implement cloud network infrastructure and improve operational efficiencies
•    Create network architectures and designs that are highly available and scalable for new customers systems and solutions to meet defined requirements
•    Work across the company to deliver Cloud network infrastructure strategies aligned with business objectives
•    Leverage knowledge and skills associated with AWS Console, CLI, and Managed Services
•    Build Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and utilize Cloud-native and shared services in an automated fashion
•    Implement DevSecOps including auto-scaled architectures for rebuilds
•    Use Modern coding principles, continuous integration pipelines, and automation-first implementations
•    Develop system interfaces on the Cloud and leverage messaging infrastructure
•    Remediate security findings and maintain compliancy standards
•    Flexible schedule to support necessary off-hours maintenance and upgrades
•    Support on-call rotation 

CLEARANCE REQUIREMENT:

•    DoD Secret clearance is required prior to start (Interim Secret clearance is acceptable)

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS: 

•    Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science (or related field) and 4+ years of professional IT experience – or – a High School diploma (or equivalent) and 8+ years of professional IT experience
•    2+ years of experience with Cloud services, AWS, or Azure.
•    Understand essential networking concepts around LAN / WAN Optimization, IPV4/IPV6, BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, Carrier Services, MPLS, Network monitoring tools, DNS, and DHCP 
•    Familiar with Infrastructure as Code technologies such as Terraform and Ansible.
•    Prior experience working in Agile Development
•    Experienced migrating workloads to the cloud.
•    Experiences with cloud consoles/CLIs and provisioning cloud services.
•    Capable of working within a team and independently.
•    Someone with strong problem solving and decision-making ability.
•    Detail oriented with experience interacting with customers.
•    Proficient in creating technical documentation and diagrams
•    US Citizenship required
•    Ability to provide coverage for core hours (8a to 6p) and occasional work on nights and weekends may be required during maintenance periods.
•    Travel to customer sites, including overnight travel


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

•    An AWS/Azure Certified Solution Architect, Associate (or equivalent experience).
•    Certified in any of Cisco’s certification programs, such as CCNP
